Wide shingle beach with plenty of room to social distance. There is a n extensive car park with an obelisk set up by the American Army thanking the vilages of South Hams for their assistance in the war, but curiously no mention of the tragic disaser which happened here when a "practice" for DDay went wrong with the loss of hundreds of lives

Campervans NOT welcome! Went for lunch and a walk but couldn't do either because the car park spaces are so small even the cars are overhanging and the signs say you must fit within the bay. The middle car park has a height barrier. A local told us we WILL be fined if we don't fit. Had to leave, clearly the local authorities don't want us to spend money in this area. They couldn't make it clearer that they don't want motorhomes and campers there. Even more tragic is the fact that all the car parks were virtually empty and the cafés etc all looked dead. Several campervans were looking to park at the same time and they left also. DO NOT VISIT, you will only be disappointed and very angry like we were.

Fabulous week on this camping and caravan site, lovely clean site, good facilities and great service from all the staff running the site, bit of a steep hill from the beach back to campsite but not a great distance and well worth the walk. Queens arms in the village is fabulous for food and keep a good pint, again an easy walk. Great little sandwich van at end of beach, bacon bap is delicious. Torcross at other end of beach is also a nice walk and well worth visiting, plenty of history from second world war when the area was evacuated for the American troops to practice for the D Day landings

Not a sandy beach, but a pebble beach which is dog friendly which is great. We visited when the weather presenter said it was going to be a hot sunny day. When we arrived it was overcast and windy. That said, we still had a nice walk along the beach, wrapped up in a coat during August

Massively long shingle beach . Easy access and very clear if cold water. Can always get on the beach without crowding even on busy days when smaller beaches are full.
