My friends and I visited this establishment on recommendation from a fellow Slough Town supporter who like us was visiting Welling to watch the football match up the road.
Upon entering we were welcomed by the owner who told us what was available to drink.I settled for an old fashioned Stout and my friends opted for a golden style ale.
We were made very welcome by locals and soon endulged in conversation about the local area ( me being a Catford lad). The Stout was excellent and a second pint soon followed..my friends ale was so good he wanted to stay and crash out in the quiet room to the rear of the premises.Hope to visit again next season when I will a cider or two.

We came here after seeing another Welling loss. Great beer including the Wantsum brewery. Very welcoming to us both & we met some regulars again talking about the mighty wings! Really nice atmosphere & very well priced. It’s got a lovely room at the back with a fire. Great prices highly recommended.

A most welcome addtion to the real ale scene in South East London / Kent borders. The Guvnor is most particular about looking after his real ales which are dispensed on gravity directly from the casks in a cool cellar room which you can view through its window. A small venue with basic amenities but who needs more to enjoy superb beers and mandatory conversation. Open for about a year now and is already winning awards. It is simply impossible to recommend this venue too highly and NO I am not the Guvnor nor commercially involved with the pub except by handing my money over for the reasonably priced products.

The sign outside should give you a clue as to what to expect... No Mobiles. No Music. No LAGER! Say no more! This place serves one purpose and serves is very well... It provides a (constantly changing) selection of good to excellent beers (no gassy pump pulled commercial-beer here) pulled directly from the Keg for the punters who gather at this not watered down watering hole.

The place is pretty small (often packed at the weekend) and you're advised to check the opening times as they can vary (they have a Facebook page which not only tells you when they're open but also what beers are on too!) but the atmosphere is good (the lack of annoying background music and constant, irritating intrusive phone drivel also means that it's a good place to have that rare social event called TALKING too!).

Personally, as a real-ale fanatic myself I can't rate it high enough (OK, I wish it was a little bigger but the diminutive nature of the place just adds to the quirkiness of it!) but it wont necessarily suit the younger clientele or some ladies (though the Landlord has now reluctantly added wine to the menu!).

Visited this micro-pub for the 3rd or 4th time with a friend a couple of days ago. It is a most welcome addition to the pubs in the Bexley area. Quite simply great bears, good company and very welcoming.
We drank two different ales, both were excellent.

Popped in here at the weekend with my father in law, we are both real ale enthusiasts but on a budget. I can say we were pleasantly surprised, a good selection of ales and at a good price.

The interior was clean, tidy and very welcoming, as were the friendly customers already enjoying the ales.

The lack of music/pool table/fruit machines is a BIG plus thus giving people the option to talk, meet complete strangers and forge new friendships without having to shout, you would be equally at home here if you just wanted to have a quiet beer and read your paper or book uninterupted.

What you see is what you get, which is..... good beer, good price, good atmosphere, good company! oh and of course the mini roasties and cheese and biscuits on the bar!!

I will most certainly be visiting again!

make sure you check the opening times to not be disappointed

Don't miss this. If you like real ale, this is the place to go. Landlord knows his stuff and the atmosphere is proper old pub. Absolutely brilliant!

My parents and I often visit this fantastic local micropub and are consistently blown away by the quality of the drinks on offer. The landlord, Ray, is a right character and helps give this fantastic establishment that extra bit of charm.

He prides himself on the quality of the ales on offer (usually about 3 or 4, plus a real cider, wine and prosecco). of all the micropubs we have visited (quite a few at this point) his beers are always kept the best and are the most reasonably priced (ranging between £3 - £3.50). Bar snacks are also available, crisps, nuts, pickles. etc (I'd recommend the ox or ham and mustard crisps)

I'd highly recommend visiting on a Sunday afternoon as there is a great community feel on this day with a meat raffle and other similar things with all profits going to the Demelza House charity.

We enjoy visiting the door hinge regularly and have never felt like we had a proper 'local' before.
