Not easy to get to! Not easy to see. Much more money needed for years more of excavation, and renovation.

I had never heard of this but it was included in my Caraltours.net day trip. It is very interesting and two pyramids have been almost completely restored. The were completely covered by sand as they are very close to the sea.

We stopped by here whilst staying in Huacho. This definitely could be an interesting place, but they just haven't had the donations to make it a proper tourist destination, or more importantly even to be treated like the important archaeological site that it is. Considering that this site dates back to 4000 B.C. and was discovered in 1973 it is *pathetic* that people can't even see the North side of the pyramid. Virtually nothing has been done in almost 50 years in the OLDEST civilization in the Americas?! It is barely a footnote on the side of the road. Caral is a *much* more interesting site to visit and is about 1.5 hours from here.

If you have family living there, then you have to go, if not, forget about it. People of course are very nice, but nothing really big to see.
