Here you can find things that ordinary villagers used in their life starting from old ages to 20th century. The museum is full of many exhibits which gave full understanding of Vayots dzor. I was amazed by the Cross-Stone of Momik. It is masterpiece. If you are near Vayots Dzor, take time to visit this museum.

This museum, located in Yeghegnadzor, offers artifacts and objects dating back to the 2nd and 1st millennia BC from Vayots Dzor region and not only. The museum also has relatively modern objects (18-21st century) that display the customs, beliefs, and lifestyle of the Armenian people.

This is a great little museum in Yeghegnadzor; they actually have a great collection of artifacts found in the area, including from the Areni cave complex. They have a storage area that houses even more interesting items than what they might have on display at any given time, and if prompted, they will take you into those areas to see the materials. One of the prominent items typically on display is a Xachkar, or an intricate cross carved in stone, that has toured around the world and been on display in palces like the Louvre in Paris. The intricacy of the design is incredible – think it’s from the 13th century. Notable items include stone platters, glazed pottery, old swords, ancient leather shoes, tools and implements, old money (including shell money used in barter), and other interesting things. Worth a visit if you’re in the area visiting Noravank, or on your way to Tatev. Also of note, is a small art gallery that has local artists' work rotating in and out from an exhibit upstairs.

The Vayots Dzor History museum in Yeghegnadzor is a small but informative museum with an archive about the history or the area pre-and-post war time material as well as other great artifacts and stories.. There are parts of the museum that don’t seem to be finished but its unpolished charm is a relief to travelers weary of super-shiny-tourist-traps which this is not one. Fabulous way to spend an hour or so and the staff were terrific.

We tried to visit this museum but it was closed even though it should have been open. Come on Museum Director you must do better than that to attract tourists to your town, It is hardly a town jumping with activity and you have let it down.
