If you bring seafood to the restaurants to cook for you and eat in the restaurant, it will be expensive because they charge 50 baht per person and 50 baht for seafood sauce, 30 baht for soft drinks. If you ask them to cook and take away, it will be cheaper. U can buy seafood sauce from 7 eleven.

Great prices with some seafood but others compared to western countries much the same. Good to see the same old tricks being applied order half a kilo and you get one kilo or order one kilo get two and it’s just a standard up sell of their product. Word of warning if you are looking at something that hasn’t a price tag ask before you buy. Go in the morning not after 10:00am otherwise it gets too busy.

Why pay restaurant prices of you can cook yourself. Thirty six oysters shelled and bagged 100 baht. Thirty six mussel large 80 baht kilo. Large pawns still a live 250 baht a kilo. Brought from there lots of time no problems. You can also get food u have purchased cooked for u and can eat on the big pier. Plenty of other fresh fish as well. Enjoy.

There are 3 areas of this market. The first is the dried market whereby the Thais sell their dried food such as dried shrimps, cuttlefish, and other dried seafood plus some food stalls. The second area which is behind the dried market is another area that traders sell their wet sea items to customers. You just cannot buy the sea items such as prawns, craps and have them cook these here. In order to eat the sea food , you need to walk about 50 meters past some buildings to another area that is near the sea. Here is the third area, where there are 6 or 7 stalls that will fry and bake the sea food that you just purchased from the traders that are just behind the BBQ stalls. You need to buy noodles, rice , drinks from different stalls located in this area. The sea food that you purchased will be weighted and bill to you. You can bargain a bit to reduce the price. The BBQ stalls will count what you have, such as how many kilos of prawns, quantity of fish, cuttlefish and will give you a piece of paper with a number and the price on that paper. You pay the price such as THB 80 for the seafood that they BBQ or bake for you. Lose that paper and you will have problems getting your food.
Please make sure that when you buy noodles, rice from these stalls do make sure that they give you empty plates, plastic spoons, knifes and forks.
Eating places are nearby with plastic low tables and chairs. And make sure that the table and chairs belong to that BBQ stall. Dustbins to dump your rubbish are nearby.

This fish market was very busy the day we went, very hard to get a park. The market like many we have been in Thailand, full of local fish and fish products, both alive and dead. There were plenty of shell fish, lobsters, prawns and oysters. A real eye opener if you have not been to one of these before. You can even buy your fish and have it cooked outside and sit down a eat it on the spot.

Its the first time I went to Lan Pho Nakluea Market, the transport was easy as you can get a song tael from Dophlin circle for 10 bahts or you can chartered one around 150 bahts. The market was totally a local seafood market, the price was very reasonable and the fish, clams, shrimps, carbs, prawns, mussels, lobsters, all are fresh. And you could choose and buy all you want, and took them to a nearly restaurant, they will cook for you with different menus and cruisines at a resonable price too. Surely they want you to order drinks, veges, rice and others. Or otherwise, you could take the seafood to a nearby stalls for simple cooking such as steaming or grilling and then went to the waterfront picnicking.

I can remember going here many times over the years and it was a very good place to buy cheap fresh seafood and have it cooked at one of the barbeques outside the market and then eat it with friends in the park next to the fish market.
But this time I was shocked at the high prices as the market has become more popular they have kept increasing the prices so that the prices here now are a lot more than you can buy fish & other seafoods at Villa Market, Big C & other places
I guess if people keep coming the prices will continue to rise but I wont be one of them.

This is out of the touristy area. It is genuine Thai. The market in itself is lovely, but it is small and sells mainly fish. Naklua in itself is dirty, even after Thai standard. No much beaches, and dirty water. Dogs are roaming the streets. They look docile, but they are feral, and may attack. I got attacked and bitten by a pack today, so be careful! The authorities are aware if the problem, but buddhists can't just exterminate the animals.
