    Highly Recommend Killary Sheep Farm!!!
Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Killary Sheep Farm! Tom is wonderful in introducing you to his life's work with the sheep and Holly, who is the most amazing dog. Got to hold and feed some three week old lambs (made my day!!!!) Also got to try my hand at shearing!! Highly recommend!!!

    A fun learning experience
We learned an immense amount about sheep, border collies, and peat bogs. I enjoyed helping to shear a sheep, bottle-feeding a sheep, and wat ching bog be cut. I was surprised that when someone stands on peat bog and jumps I could feel the earth move 12 feet away. It would be a mistake to miss this stop.

    Highlight of our trip!
Killary Sheep Farm was one of the highlights of our 5 day trip to Inishbofin and Connemara! The lads providing the demonstrations were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of my questions (I had loads!) and were great hosts. The sheep dog demonstration was incredible; honestly, one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen! We also got to bottle feed lambs, and take part in sheep shearing. There’s no walking required and it would be wheelchair accessible, so definitely recommend this for young and old alike! Also, the view is absolutely stunning.

    Fantastic Farm Experience
Tom was friendly, professional and welcoming at all times. He was more than happy to answer all of our questions and give us an insight into a working farm. The farm experience was absolutely wonderful. Over the course of the morning Tom was able to show us a sheepdog, demonstration as well as allowing us to feed the lambs and experience shearing their coats. The farm itself is situated over-looming the beautiful and majestic Killary fjord, which is worth a visit in Highly recommended!

    Wonderful experience!
Tom and PJ were fantastic! Prince the dog made the most wonderful display of skills in the sheep herding show. Feeding the baby sheep was awesome too 😍 I truly loved this part of my trip!

    Do it!
Recently visited Galway for a couple of days and decided to drive out to the Connemara to take in the Irish countryside. While planning what to see in the area, I stumbled across the Kilary Sheep Farm on internet searches. We had a rental car and the drive was only about an hour and half from Galway, so I decided it would be a fun afternoon. The farm is on the way to Kylemore Abbey, which is another lovely attraction in the area.....so we put the 2 together on our itinerary. So glad we did! The drive is splendid...not necessarily easy for those of us from the States that drive on the other side of the road, but well worth it. Take your time and you will see some of the most beautiful parts of Ireland. Upon arrival, we were greeted by name by our host and the owner, Tom. What a lovely man who loves what he does! He and his dog, Prince, really put on a show. Amazing to see to see the dedication and enthusiasm of both. The sheep are fun to watch, too. We all agree that this was a highlight of our time in Ireland!

A great local experience in Connemara
We saw this experience on Trip Advisor and decided to book it. Tom, the owner of a large sheep farm along the rocky coastline overlooking the Killary Fijord. Tom and one of his herding dogs gave a great demonstration of how dogs are used to herd sheep. It was incredibly interesting and well worth the time and money. The beautiful scenery was a great addition to this experience.

    What a fantastic experience!
Tom and his terrifically smart pup Prince warmed our hearts with a sheep dog demonstration that blew us away, followed by a lovely conversation over coffee and biscuits in the famine house. We HIGHLY recommend this experience - Tom's land is a beautiful testimony to his strong family ties to this area in Connemara and his dedication to it and his animals made a huge impression on us. A million thanks Tom!

    Impressed! Great Experience!
We spent 10 days in Ireland and this was one of our favorite stops - my husband #1 - he couldn’t get over how incredible the sheepdog, Rex was. And how the PJ could speak in practically a whisper to the dog a quarter mile away. It was pretty incredible! And then my kids loved feeding and playing with all the baby sheep! A very cool experience - you must go!!

This is a great activity, really good fun, in a beautiful setting. Tom is a great host and very interesting. He pitched well to smaller kids as well as primary school aged and to adults. The dogs are immaculately behaved and the presentation is a marvel! A brilliant way for everyone to enjoy themselves! A MUST for visitors to Connemara. Thanks Tom and wonder dog Holly

We (me + 3 teens) had a wonderful time here learning about sheepdogs. PJ was engaging with the surly teens, gave them all the chance to try out their Mindcraft sheep shearing skills and impressed us with the dogs. The skies cleared just in time for bottle feeding the lambs. You get to do all this in the most picturesque location along the Killary. Great family outing!

This was one of our most enjoyable days out in Connemara. The scenery on the drive there and on arrival was breathtaking. Tom the farmer made us very welcome and we were amazed at the skill of sheep herding he demonstrated with his very young dog Holly. We were a family group of adults teenagers and young children. Every single one loved it and enjoyed the hands on element of shearing and bottle feeding the lambs. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting the area.

It was a typical wet weather day when we booked to visit the Killary sheep farm. However, if anything the setting looked even better in the wet mist and the experience was really informative.

There was a live sheep dog demonstration - it's amazing the distance the dog (Holly) could hear the instructions from. This was followed by sheep shearing (you can have a go if you fancy - though the sheep might not!) and finally bottle feeding the lambs - which I guess is only available in season.

The two farmers who ran the session were very informative and happily answered all questions thrown their way. Would recommend.

We arranged out trip at short notice via the website. Tom kindly rang us to check if we were happy to chance the weather or would we rather reschedule. We did chance the weather and we were rewarded for it stayed dry and bright. Our trip with 4 young children, a baby and 4 adults was a great success. Tom is a wonderful host. His dog was incredible to see in action. Everyone got to help shear and sheep and feed pet lambs in absolutely stunning surroundings. Tom is hugely knowledgeable and passionate about his craft and we all learnt lots.

Brilliant experience. We have a 3 and 1 year old and both loved seeing the sheep and the dog in action. My 3 year old is still talking about it a week later. She was so excited feeding the lambs, helping sheering the sheep and watching the sheepdog demonstration. The dogs ability and skill was amazing to watch. Tom was a pleasure to listen to, very informative and generous with his time. Setting is absolutely beautiful looking onto Killary Fjord. Highly recommend for children and also for adults!! 😁

We really enjoyed Killary Sheep Farm today. The weather wasn’t great but that didn’t stop our enjoyment at all. Tom was so friendly, welcoming and informative and happy to answer questions and share his skills. The tour is suitable for all ages. The sheepdog demonstration was fascinating and Holly the dog so obviously enjoyed her work. Tom sheared a sheep with clippers and invited people to have a go. Adults and children alike enjoyed the experience. There were about 10 lambs that were introduced into our group and Tom distributed plenty of bottles of milk for feeding. The kids in the group particularly loved this activity.
The visit was so interesting and we weren’t rushed at all… plenty of time to relax and enjoy. I would definitely recommend this tour. Excellent experience at a very good price. Thank you Tom.

We had a great time at the sheep farm and stayed for almost 2,5 hours. Tom is extremely passioned about his work and shares it in a great way with visitors. The sheep herding demo was very impressive and it was great to feed the lambs. Really a must visit and do if you’re around, you won’t regret. Thanks Tom for the great time, we will come back for sure!

Such a wonderful experience we've had! Tom is so welcoming and knowledgeable, he showed us the puppies, we bottle fed some lambs ( they're bit grown up now but they still love it) and we saw the sheepdog in action, very impressive indeed. All that with a backdrop of the most stunning scenery of Killary fjord, absolutely stunning. A great experience for any age and any person. Highly recommend it.
