We wandered into this wonderful shop looking for Irish woolens. Donough, the 3rd generation owner, immediately lead us through the store explaining the sources, qualities, and histories of the goods. The “garnish” was his sharings of local history. Highly recommend a visit.

It was miserable weather the day that we visited Lahinch on our coach trip of the area and we popped into several shops to get out of the rain. This shop really has a feel of yesteryear given the quality of the stock and how it is displayed. The shop wasn't particularly busy when we visited and we spent some time in conversation with the utterly charming lady and gentlemen who served us. We were particularly intrigued in a well polished brass sign attached to a door on the upper floor which carried the legend 'Miss Mooney, Dress & Mantle Making, Warerooms' We were told that she had been the shop proprietors' Aunt who had worked in the shop most of her life. My wife bought a lovely lambswool scarf. I was interested in a pewter encased watch that could be attached to one's waistbelt but unfortunately the watch wasn't working. A great shame. This shop really is worth visiting whenever in Lahinch, it is most certainly not a tourist trap.…
