Demanding course

First round of golf in Ireland for my wife and me. You really need a caddie because of course routing and blind shots.

Loved the golf course. It was everything we had been told it would be. Wish we had been able to play a second time. However, very disappointed in our caddies. Not very helpful and neither one had any personality. This was unusual as this was our fifth course of our trip and all previous caddies were most enjoyable and informative.... More

Truly a links experience! This course is not for the weak of heart. It will humble you, but you will have a tale to tell after words! Tony and his caddie staff are great. Play through what ever weather the North Atlantic throws at you! It's all part of the experience.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time at Lahinch Golf Club despite the weather conditions on the day. The Atlantic Ocean is very unpredictable so you can experience four seasons in one day on the Old Course. Hope to welcome you back to Lahinch in the near future More

Expect to get plenty of wind on this course. Beautiful course with several blind tee shots. Historic few holes that were part of original design. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

What a great golf course, if you are playing golf in Ireland you must play this course. Very difficult course for the average golfer, dont worry about your score, play a round and take in the fantastic scenery.. Staff at course are terrific.. would recommend a Cady if 1 st time playing this course.. you will enjoy it.

We traveled to Lahinch for two rounds on the Old Course ( me a return visit and my wife her first) . For shot value , this course is one of the finest in the world . An opening challenging uphill par four is followed by a well laid out par 5 . Then its back to the ocean and... More

Thank you for your kind comments and we are delighted to read that you and your wife enjoyed your time at Lahinch Golf Club and that Anthony assisted you around the golf course. We are conscious of the carry to some fairways and have a programme in place to bring the fairway cut back towards the tee boxes while we... More

A destination course for golfers with a storied tradition (dress appropriately). Michael was my excellent caddy. Can understand see why it is called the "St. Andrews of Ireland." This is right in town.

We will be celebrating 125 years of golf at Lahinch next year so our heritage & traditions are very important to us. Lahinch Golf Club is often referred to as the 'St. Andrew's of Ireland' due to our proximity to the village. It is great that visitors can stay overnight, walk to the golf club and enjoy some 'craic' in... More

Guessing this course gets played first (as we did) on many Ireland Golf trips due to its proximity to airport. A fabulous welcome to true links golf, but wish we could go back to compare to the other course we played later. Regardless, each links course we played had its own character and was outstanding it its own right. Lahinch... More

Due to our proximity to Shannon International Airport we are the first stop on many golfers pilgrimage to the South West of Ireland so high standards are set from the beginning! It's no secret that Lahinch is one of the great golf clubs in the world. As a less-than-expert golfer, I arrived with some trepidation. As it turned out, I played the best round of golf in my life. I was lucky to have a caddy named Anthony Garrihy, who not only knew the course but made suggestions (in a non-judgmental... More

Tremendous test of golf through the massive dunes on the coast of Lahinch. The staff is every bit as friendly and helpful as the course is great. You will use every club in the bag on this course, and you can look forward to some challenging par threes and tough par fours. Take a caddy!
