No matter the time of day or the season of the year, Stragill Strand is a lovely beach. Great for walking or metal detecting with gorgeous views.

There are two ways to get to this beach, either walking along the coastal path from Buncrana or by car straight to Stragill. The remoteness of this beach is what is so attractive about it. When the tide is out you can walk over the...More

This place is well out of the way from usual tourists. You can be down here and be the only one for miles. Very peaceful and such a beautiful place. Amazing views.

Stragill Strand is most definitely the best of the beaches in the Buncrana area. Easily accessible, clean and has lots to explore. A lovely place to picnic and for me to sit and read 📖 whilst my husband does a spot of metal detecting.

I've walked over to this beach a few times. One continues along the shore-front & along a cliff top. Eventually, one arrives upon this magnificent beach. It is always quiet, and is rather beautiful & unspoiled. Great place for peace & quiet!
