Some people learn a lot of science and then make the world a better place. Learn about the brilliant minds of Birr and the new knowledge they discovered and better life for us that they produced.

The science centre is well worth a visit. Sit in the room with stars on the ceiling and the words of WB Yeats poem, He wishes for the cloths of Heaven, around the walls - HEAVEN indeed!

A fascinated and unexpected history of a remarkable, scientific family. Well laid out and quiet at the time we visited (10am)
