A well laid out museum and a great source of detail for any body interested in science, in the galaxy and inventors. You would need a bit of time to read it all and take it all in but there is something for everyone.

I was amazed at how little I knew of this amazing family until I went here. The displays of their scientific, photographic and astronomy pioneering was really fascinating. If you like science or history you will love it!

Birr castle has a surprising history int eh world of astronomy, including, for many decades, the world's largest telescope . The exhibition takes you through the history and the astronomy thoroughly, though some of it requires a technical grasp beyond me.

On its own, the science center was interesting, but underwhelming. However the house tour, georgous gardens and walking paths, tree house and wonderful play area, together with the lovely cafe, made a wonderful destination for our family for the afternoon.
