There should be a tour
Sep 2019 • Couples
Saw the signs and popped in after visiting the park next door. Thought that there would be a tour of the wine making facilities but sadly not, just the show/tasting room. A pleasant lady served us tiny portions (about all I could do anyhow), products available for sale.

Returned after 18 years

I came in to get the supplies for a true Honeymoon. This past Nov. I was able to return from my home in Canada to stock up on more mead. I love their products. Picked up a clay pot to add to my collection. Got a couple tea towels too.

NOT WORTH A STOP
Jun 2016 • Couples
After visiting Bunratty Castle and Village we saw a sign for the winery so we decided to visit it thinking it would show wine and mead making. It did not. Was just a shop and gift store in an old farm building. Picked up a souvenir package of mead and left.

They sell the mead in the gift shop at the castle and in the bar at Durty Nellys. They need to remove the sign up the hill... It's decent but served warm.

More like a history of and gift shop
Oct 2015 • Couples
It`s not like you see how they make the mead and potcheen. This is a nice little shop that you can learn about the history and buy a bottle, if you would like one while you`re in Ireland. If you`re an American, you can easily purchase it online or at a Total Wine store. You could save yourself a huge headache in postage fees or hassle doing it that way. It`s nice for a visit here because they have been doing it for so long. Oh, and don`t forget, if you`re not sure you want a bottle they are happy to give you several samples to warm up the wallet hand. It`s just a little ways from the park.

Don't go out of your way.

I wasn't very impressed with this winery. The people were nice but there wasn't much to the place. You can pick up their products for the same price in many of the tourist attractions. Stop in if you've never tasted mead. Otherwise don't go out of your way.

Popped in to pick up some mead on my visit, prices same as elsewhere but they also sell Pochin. Don't know if they do tours as I didn't ask, I will next time

For the Mead Connoisseur
May 2015 • Friends
The bar maid at Bunratty Castle informed us that the mead we were drinking was made just a minute up the street so we decided to hop over. Not really much to do or see. They will share a tasting of what they offer and sell their products. My brother having made mead before was happy to discuss their process with the fellow who ran the shop which gave him a good deal of insight, but other than that we could have skipped the stop. Do buy the Mead if you see it. Very nice, not too sweet. It has a great story connected with Honeymooners.

Not sure why they call this place a winery but it was worth the trip. Got to try both the potcheen and the mead. I loved the mead so I bought some small bottles for gifts and for myself. The lady working there was friendly enough but was a bit disappointed that they only two things to try were the mead and potcheen. Takes all of 5 minutes as long as they are open.
