We were in Kilkee just for the night and had arrived in the town around 5 pm and after checking in to our hotel we went for a walk around town to fill in some time as our dinner reservation was not until 9pm.
Unfortunately with the Covid 19 restrictions there is very little to do in the town with many businesses closed. It seems to be a town that families stay.
We tried to get a coffee and a pastry but there were nowhere open after 6pm!! We were reduced to getting a supermarket takeaway coffee!! The town was pretty busy with families but not much else happening other than ice cream and walking the strand!!

Anyway we went for a walk along the sea front and ended up at the start of the cliff walk unexpectedly.
With nothing but time we headed off along the path.

The further you go the more spectacular the views!
It is not super long but you could stroll nice and handy and give nearly and hour with stops for photos or just to take it in.

Near the top it is a little steeper but nothing too off putting. We met an elderly lady who was not the steadiest on her feet coming back down with no issues. Also a gentleman with a walker frame who did the same!

There is a coffee shop at the start, Diamond Rocks, which serves food and alcohol. But check its opening times, it can vary Day to day.

Drive or walk. Take time to take a few pictures.. worth it. No fencing so take care. Dress warm, windbreaker is a good idea. The wind can be harsh so bring a cover for your face and ears and enjoy the irish coast at its best.

This was recommended by our hosts at a B and B in Limerick.
I am so glad we took their advice!
The views are spectacular, and the walk is easy. What I really like is it isn't all touristy and loaded with people like the Cliffs of Moher, this is truly a secret gem.

We visited this walk when the wind coming off the Atlantic was 45mph … which made the hike up to the top very interesting. There’s a good tarmac path all the way along the cliff edge walk and a rail on the steepest bit. There are also periodic seats.

The views along the cliff face are stunning, as is the view back down into the horseshoe bay to Kilkee. But be careful on windy days as the strength of the gusty wind can catch you unawares.

We only came across the Cliffs of Kilkee by chance on the way to Lahinch from Tralee. We were in The Cliffs of Moher last year and these are better plus there are no crowds and it is free. You would want to be careful because there are no barriers. This is a must visit on the wild Atlantic way.

We parked at the diamond rocks cafe and took a stroll up to the top of the cliffs. It's a beautiful walk and not tough to do. We turned at top and came back the same path, but you can continue on out the cliffs or go back on part of the road. Make sure to go into the cafe at the bottom for food, it's great value and good food
Public toilets are also on site.

The views of cliffs as walk went on. Plenty places and seating along the way. Rate it as good if not better than cliffs of moher and ní charge. Scenery beautiful around. Highly recommend and not difficult

Was here today with the lovely Ursula.

Plenty of parking when you arrive.

It’s a challenging walk to the top of the cliffs but well worth it as the view is really fabulous. It’s very high above the sea at some points and it’s a sheer drop off unprotected cliffs onto rocks and sea.

There’s a good tarmac path all the way to the top. There’s some seating along the way for those who need it.

At the bottom you have a very good cafe with lots of options.

Highly recommended folks!

great experience and breathtaking landscape, better than Moher Cliffs. Easy access from Kilkee, just follow the signs for scenic route. a few kilometers worth a trip to Ireland's west coast
