Brought the family here for a day out. We were a party of 8 and had initially planned on hiring bikes for a cycle to the castle but none were available on the day. The very helpful man at the information desk suggested that we take the shuttle bus the 4km to the castle. The bus driver was a gentleman... More

Do NOT miss this gorgeous national park! We were so thrilled that we chose to visit County Donegal, and this is one of the reasons. Glenveagh Castle and Gardens is gorgeous; I can only imagine calling this place home. We visited in June and the gardens were stunning. There are several trails to hike; try the one behind the castle... More

The walk to the castle and back is great (you can get a bus back if your too tired for around 3 euro if i remember right. Scenery is amazing but castle tour was closed so wandered through the gardens.

This castle is furnished during the period of its establishment in 1870. It is a display of conspicuous consumption and avarice during a time when many were starving. The orginal owner evicted 240 families making them homeless so that he could build this story book castle. Worth visiting to see how the rich lived during the times.

The national park is great value even in the rain but it would be better without it. The logistics are well set up and the walk from the visitor centre to the castle not difficult at all. Bus is the for back up. Prices very reasonable for what you get.

I can't praise the staff here enough! I contacted glenveagh national park ahead of our visit to check less busy days as my son who has asperger's doesn't cope well on crowds. The staff were very accommodating and approachable and made us feel very welcome. I recommend getting the bus from the visitor centre to the castle as it's a... More

Great place to visit, beautiful scenery, great walks and interesting information centre. Bus operates up to the castle. Beware of miges can be annoying in the afternoon time. Well worth a visit.
