Had not be here for 2 or 3 years, but recently had friends visiting from UK with kids of similar ages and on a rainy day we decided to visit here. It was a great choice we had a great day and even managed to avoid the rain for the outdoor bits. Kids loved it. It was 50 euro in... More

I was very nervous about exploring this cave, as I'm on crutches following knee surgery. We had a detailed discussion about what to expect with the helpful woman at the ticket booth, and again with our guide Conor before we embarked on the tour. Conor suggested we borrow a stool from the cafe, and he and my partner took turns... More

We had a fantastic guide who was a geology student from UCC, she really made our tour interesting and fun. Thought the place would make a great nightmare realm for halloween.

We visited the caves in August and it was a great day! The bird shows were brilliant, the birds were gorgeous and very interesting! The caves themselves were a great experience , we really enjoyed it! I think it's definitely worth a visit!

This is not a dramatic place to visit but it is interesting nonetheless. There is, in my opinion, not much of a wow factor so the slack needs to be taken up by the guide who should add colour to the proceedings. Unfortunately our guy looked like he was going through the motions after a long season so we left... More

A lovely gift shop and coffee shop awaits you before you go into the caves, which is very pleasant. Our caves guide was very entertaining and quirky and explained the caves to us in great detail, and even threw in afew jokes along the way. A must see when visiting this most beautiful part of County Clare

Our party of 3 visited Ailwee Caves this week paying 45euro for the pleasure. The fee included a visit and demonstrations at the Birds of Prey educational centre. The cave entrance is inside the visitor centre housing of course the compulsory tourist shop. Visitors are given a coloured disc and wait 15-20 minutes between tours, giving time to eat or... More

Located in the heart of the Burren In County Clare, Aillwee Cave sits on a hillside with a great view of Galway Bay. We only had time to do the Cave tour which takes you to the underworld of The Burren – excellent tour consisting of a 30-minute walk through the beautiful caverns – over bridged chasms, under weird formations... Whether or not you have ever visited a cave before, this one is worth a look. The guide was very informative on its history. The structure and formations will have you mesmerized - not to mention the total darkness when the lights are turned off. Climb the hillside outside for a beautiful panorama of the surrounding countryside. Refuel on sandwiches,... More
