A good breakfast to keep you going for the day, with a reasonable price. Pleasant service by the table waitress, though the girl on the till could do with a brush up on genuine courtesy and pleasantries. She didn't appear to be having a good day. I hope tomorrow will find her in better form. The lilt of Donegal accents in the place were a delight.

Nancy's was full and we were recommended this place by the lady in the Donegal Designer Makers shop. Food with gusto. All delicious. Really good service. A quirky environment. It felt like a pop up cafe eating in the hall and that added to the enjoyment.

We are a family of 5 hungry boys and we were thrilled with the Heritage Centre. The staff are friendly and welcoming despite our large numbers and they could not have been more helpful to us. The food is first class and the availability of children's portions of main courses from the menu meant that we did not need to rely on chicken nuggets and chips etc. This made eating there very affordable. The range of desserts, tray bakes and cakes for dessert was very good also. All-round the experience was excellent and all credit goes to the owner and staff for affording us such a lovely experience. Keep up the good work

I thought this would be very different given the ratings on Tripadvisor and description "Heritage Centre!" Instead of a welcome center, it was a small room through a door that had written descriptions on the wall, some pictures and a miniature as well as a bunch of junk in a room (it wasn't well presented). It looked more like an area people use to for random activities than a legitimate place to visit.

If you want to learn more about weaving, visit Triona Design Ardara or Eddie Doherty Handwoven Tweeds. There are actual looms there and you can learn about the history...like a REAL heritage center!!

Visited Shelias Cafe at the Heritage Centre in Ardara twice this week, once for coffee and second time for lunch, on both visits experience ruined by abundance off flies swarming around the tables. Two families left swiftly from the table beside me and my elderly father. Would seriously question the hygiene risk. Made my complaint on paying for my meal and the staff member agreed that there was alot off flies as they had to leave the doors and windows open. I advised her that we were not aware of this problem in other eateries we had visited and would highlight this on Tripadvisor..

If you are in the area it is worth a pop in to read the information on display. It isn’t something I’d go out of my way to visit though as there are many things in the county you should explore first.

The Ardara Heritage Centre is based in the old Courthouse. It tells the story of Donegal tweed from sheep through to the well-known Donegal cloth. Ardara was built on the tweed industry so this museum is well worth a visit. The building also contains the Tourist Office who really know their subject – ask to see the photos of the Assaranca Falls frozen solid!

Very little to offer as far as things to see and information about the area. It was hard to find it open for visitors, and then the attendants were not super informative. The place could use upgrading, expansion, and added artifacts, literature, videos, etc.

Sheila's cafe is the highlight of the heritage centre and possibly all of Ardara, the food is outstanding, Apple centred buns are out of this world.

We only learned of the Heritage Center after arriving at our lodging. We are so glad we visited the Center. It gave such a wide range of information about Ireland and the Irish people.
