Came here last week. Found it a little boring with some random artefacts in it that didnt necessary have anything to do with the castle itself. Was expecting more about history of the castle and the relevant era

We really enjoyed a relaxing trip to Athlone Castle. My great grandparents lived in Athlone and the folks at the Castle were very welcoming and helped me find info about the area.

The outside of the castle is spectacular and has amazing views of the town. Inside the castle, it is too modern and loses the authenticy of the castle itself.

Very helpful man at desk. Very informative self guided tour with opportunities to dress up in costumes for photos. Especially interesting if you have a love for history. Your ticket gets you discounts at several other activities. Enjoyable afternoon.
