Cosy place and a friendly staff. Only had a coffee but it looks like a nice place to sit down when it's cold outside. Nice and relaxed atmosphere.

The reviews are pretty accurate, Irelands ( and possibly the worlds ) oldest bar with a great atmosphere, very busy on weekend nights so go early to get a seat in the main bar or walk out the back to the snug and large outside...More

Well worth a visit especially if visiting from overseas. The bar itself is small so large groups wouldn’t be ideal. They do h e a note of the door that no hens or stags welcome ... which is ideal if you’re past that age !!!

There's a super organic cafe just up the road from Sean's below the Bastion b&b. Highly recommended for breakfast and lunch or just yummy drinks/snacks.

Sean's Bar (previously Kate's Cottage)? (10 Replies)
Any difference in the change of name regarding meals? Kate's Cottage was very good and surprised it's changed.

I wonder if the owners, Sharon and Peter, really believe that there is a need for another Irish bar to add to the seven already there within 100 metres or so? Will they offer the steaks which made them famous?

Sean's doesn't serve food but there's several restaurants in that corner of town so you won't need to go far.
