we had a great tour on the horse back. Roger was very friendly and told us a lot more about the history. We went with the 5 of us and all were unexperienced. the tour last much longer than we had agreed and it was the same price. We would recommend it. Even for me it was nice to do... More

Great treck ride today in the hills of Oughterard. Roger and his staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and its history. The horses are very well taken care of, which is most important in my opinion. Suits all level of riders. Thank for a great experience!

I was given an early Father's Day present by my 13-year-old daughter: horseback riding in the Connemara Hills above Oughterard. I will cherish this gesture and its memory. Roger and his family are top notch, accommodating my clumsiness and trepidation (as a rider I am much more comfortable astride a bike than atop a horse) fluidly as we trekked to... More

Honestly, doing this was not easy for me, as I have always been kind of scared of the idea. I have never been on a horse, period, not even a pony. My fiancee and I had a great time. Roger and his children are super helpful. Roger is not only a good guide but he is an encouraging teacher too.... More

We found this stable online and decided to book a trek while we were exploring Ireland, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! The views were breathtaking, the ponies and horses were excellent and adorable, and the leader of the trek (Roger) was extremely knowledgeable about horses and the land itself dating back thousands of... I took my daughter to ride with Roger for a 1.5 hour pony trek. He was wonderfully knowledgeable about the area we rode through and provided us with a fun narrative as we came upon new points of interest. His horses were well cared for and it was apparent he enjoys both horses and storytelling! I would definitely recommend Knockillaree... More

Very nice trek with breathtaking view of Lough Corrib and connemara landscape. Roger makes you feel comfortable with horseriding even if you are a beginner and has many interesting stories to share about his country. I definitely would do it again!

I found this riding centre on the internet after I had booked our accommodation on Lough Corrib. My daughter has worked with houses all her life and was very keen to ride a Connemara Pony. Roger was amazing right from the first email and he was equally as good as a guide on our trail. There were just the two... More

We decided to visit knockillaree as our son (6) was bursting to get up on a pony while we were on holidays. So glad we found this great centre. The staff were so helpful and accommodating, and the location so beautiful. We took an hour trek and the ponies were just great! They have something to suit everyone, all ages... More
