Very expensive, not worth it !!

6 hours in total for maybe 15 mins at Fastnet lighthouse, (Lighthouse is impressive). Clear Island - where u are left for at least 2 hrs - the walks are great if u enjoy being plagued by flies and horseflies. Very little of interest for adults or kids here.
Definitely not worth €42 per adult. Disappointed, would NOT recommend.

The true Wild Atlantic Way must see
Aug 2020
On a sunny day this is an absolute must. We left Schull harbour and arrived on Cape Clear at middayt. We boarded the waiting boat to the lighthouse directly. On the way out we came across a pod of dolphins which was an added bonus and I heard you could also possible see breaching whales on some trips. The lighthouse is breathtaking and the tour gives you loads of photo taking opportunities. The water was clam but some kids did feel ill while we were at the lighthouse when the boat slowed down. After returning we spent a few hours on Cape Clear. On a sunny day this is a special place and there is a steep hill overlooking the bay that is worth the walk. Overall superb day out. One of Ireland's top attractions, forget Temple Bar and the Guinness storehouse this is the real deal. Ireland's teardrop has so much history. Just do it!

On a sunny day this is a must do!
Jul 2020
A very enjoyable day out. The ferry trip allows passengers to circle the famous Fastnet lighthouse as well as spend a couple of hours on Cape Clear island which is a beautiful spot. Good food and coffee are available at the harbour in Cape Clear and it's a really lovely way to spend a couple of sunny hours. The really energetic should head up the very steep road to the left for a fantastic panorama of Roaringwater Bay and the Fastnet, the less energetic should head inland (South) - up another slightly less steep road - and after a few minutes they'll get to South Harbour which is very picturesque. There is a minibus at the ship which gaive tours of the island and shuttles people to the Heritage Centre. Note that the trip out to Fastnet can be very choppy and there is a risk of getting splashed if seated outside the cabin - but it's worth it! One other thing to note is that the ferry from Schull only runs in June-August.

Fastnet and Cape Clear brilliant
Jul 2020 • Friends
This was a brilliant boat trip which included time for a walk and picnic onnCape Clear Island and Fastnet Rock tour. Karen was very helpful since I booked this months ago with changes adding another person to the tour and changing dates around because COVID uncertainty. An added bonus was a pod of dolphins joining our boat on the way back to Baltimore while we watched the sun go down. It doesn’t get much better than this!

Stunning scenery and a breath of fresh air

A great place to visit. Well worth paying to go into the site. There are steps and paths to a few different viewing areas (It's windy and will blow the cobwebs away) which are great for seeing wildlife and coastline. You get to cross the bridge to the mizen itself (more stunning views) and in there see how the Fastnet lighthouse was constructed and about the history of lighthouse keepers over the years.
There's a small cafe and shop too but if it's fine, bring a picnic and then get ice creams in the shop afterwards. This site does require a certain mobility as there are steps and inclines. But you can take it easy and pretend to be admiring the views while catching your breath! A must visit spot in west cork.

A breath taking experience

Set off from baltimore and moored at Cape clear island before heading further out to the fastnet lighthouse. The highlight of an Irish coastal trip by far. Certainly an Irish wonder. A definite must see on the Wild Atlantic way.
