A lovely island where we strolled through untamed countryside, rested in hidden lagoons and had a very pleasant lunch at the Jolly Roger pub. Highly recommended.

We had a great day on Sherkin Island. Got the ferry from Baltimore. Had a lovely walk to Silver Strand - route well marked. Then to the Jolly Roger for toasties before getting the ferry back. Very peaceful island with great views.

My visit this time was brief but brought back happy memories of a longer stay over 8 years earlier. Like everywhere in Ireland, when the sun shines, the beauty comes through. From the ruins of O Driscolls castle to the ruined Friary and down to...More

We visited Sherkin Island on a recent trip to Baltimore. We were blessed with the weather - the beaches here are simply stunning & deserted!!

Just been to Sherkin, a nature lover's paradise! Loved the wildflowers, the country roads and the sandy shores, abundant with marine life. The crystal clear waters were refreshing for swimming and it didn't take long to slot into Sherkin-time - slow-paced and relaxing!

Despite the rain and it was relentless, we had a great day. The beaches are amazing, we could only dream what it would be like on a sunny day. Lots of walks and some of the best views ever.
