Responsible tourism award winner - Whale Watch West Cork runs responsible whale and dolphin watching tours led by zoologist and conservationist Dr Nic Slocum. All tours depart from Baltimore, Harbour, West Cork on board Voyager- daily between April and November (sea conditions permitting). Each tour takes you around the beautiful islands and headlands of West Cork, stopping at Cape Clear Island affording visitors an insight into the unique lifestyle of the islanders of Roaring Water Bay.

Our overseas arm, Whales Worldwide, runs exclusive wildlife holidays to unique destinations including Baja, Maui, Patagonia and Sri Lanka to watch whales responsibly in their natural habitats. Each tour is personally guided by Nic Slocum with a maximum of ten like-minded guests per holiday.

We are dedicated to providing each of our customers with a safe, comfortable and educational whale and dolphin watching experience. We seek to impart accurate knowledge on the marine mammals and other wildlife we encounter and on the wider issues of marine conservation through informed commentary with special emphasis on the current threats facing these unique animals and their fragile environment. We directly support conservation measures through education and research.

We did the evening tour which is a nice time to go and a little cheaper. Nic the captain is enthusiastic and knows his stuff. One of those guys that left the rat race to do what loves. Saw some Dolphins and the glimpse of a Minky whale. What you get to see depends on the time of year, the... More

Our whole trip to Ireland was planned around a trip out with Nic and it did not disappoint. We saw dozens of dolphins, a couple of minke whales, grey seals and lots of different types of seabirds. The dolphins were riding the bow waves for ages. My husband and I like wildlife watching but it was great to find an... More

Whilst on our summer holidays (3/7/16) we had a fantastic trip with the knowledgeable Nic on his boat Voyager. Was a wonderful host/guide showing great concern for the comfort and enjoyment of his passengers. We saw minky whales and dolphins. Would recommend this trip to everyone. J&M Allen Uk

We booked this trip over the phone with Nic for 2 adults and 2 Princesses for the following day. depending on the all important weather. Nic understood our concerns in relation to boats, Princesses and weather and very kindly confirmed later via text that the day would be suitable for our excursion. As it turns out one little Princess decided... More

I had the great fortune of being to be able to do 2 whale watching trips yesterday, one with Nic on his boat. Voyager and the other with Brendan on the Liscannor Star. On both trips we saw numerous minke whales as well as heaps of dolphins. The dolphins in particular caused great excitement, bow riding and frolicking around us.... More

Living in West Cork It's hard to believe we have this magnificent tour on our door step. Nic Slocum and his colleague Brendan are outstanding guides there was nothing to fault. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, Minke whales, seals, sun fish and many different species of birds along with perfect weather conditions. With 4 young boys from aged... More

Went out on a day trip with friends and we were not disappointed, we seen Minke whales, Humpback whales, Basking sharks, Dolphins and seals. This was all finished off with a picnic on Cape Clear. Nic was very informative and a pleasure to have as our tour guide. I cannot recommend this tour enough, it was a fantastic experience.
