Responsible tourism award winner - Whale Watch West Cork runs responsible whale and dolphin watching tours led by zoologist and conservationist Dr Nic Slocum. All tours depart from Baltimore, Harbour, West Cork on board Voyager- daily between April and November (sea conditions permitting). Each tour takes you around the beautiful islands and headlands of West Cork, stopping at Cape Clear Island affording visitors an insight into the unique lifestyle of the islanders of Roaring Water Bay.

Our overseas arm, Whales Worldwide, runs exclusive wildlife holidays to unique destinations including Baja, Maui, Patagonia and Sri Lanka to watch whales responsibly in their natural habitats. Each tour is personally guided by Nic Slocum with a maximum of ten like-minded guests per holiday.

We are dedicated to providing each of our customers with a safe, comfortable and educational whale and dolphin watching experience. We seek to impart accurate knowledge on the marine mammals and other wildlife we encounter and on the wider issues of marine conservation through informed commentary with special emphasis on the current threats facing these unique animals and their fragile environment. We directly support conservation measures through education and research.

We had a great time, at first finding it difficult to see the whales but with guidance and advice from Nic - great many thanks - we tuned in and could see and understand more and more of the Fin Whales, Minke and also dolphins and seals. Dolphins probably had the most effect for the young ones as they were... More

We went Saturday 13/08/16 and had so much fun that we wanted to go on the evening trip but it was full. Was a bit sad not to see any whales but we were told before hand that that was a possibility. The dolphins though really made up for it. We will be returning again towards the end of the... More

The skipper had a nice personality, but we could not escape the feeling of beeing part of a game show. We have done both companies whale watch trips and this was not the best. Not that it was bad, besides the fact of not seeing whales and hearing the skipper say the minkies had not shown themselves that entire day...then... More

Quite simply loved the whole trip. We took the morning slot and arrived at Baltimore Harbour at 9am. Parking is really easy and just a 30 second walk to the quayside and to the boat. Very welcoming and professional taking safety very seriously. They manage a great balance between being happy and jovial and ensuring that you dont feel like... More

For the price they are charging this a complete rip off. As a family with two children to pay €200 to see a small pod of dolphins is a real let down. This is advertised as Whale Watching, and one of the best even. But the whole experience was disappointing. Over priced and disappointing. As for the 'talk' about how... More

Hi Ariadnabr I am sorry you were disappointed with your experience with us. As you will see from the many 5 star reviews we have the vast majority of people consider the €50 euro per person ticket price for a 4-5 hour whale/dolphin experience to be exceptional value for money. This includes a refreshment break at the historically fascinating island... More

Loved the whole experience. We saw Minke Whales, loads of dolphins and seals in early July. We were advised that you could also see humpback whales later on in the season, but also warned that we might not see anything at all. It is booked via a phone call to Nic Slocum via the Whale Watching in West Cork website.... More

We did the evening tour which is a nice time to go and a little cheaper. Nic the captain is enthusiastic and knows his stuff. One of those guys that left the rat race to do what loves. Saw some Dolphins and the glimpse of a Minky whale. What you get to see depends on the time of year, the... More

Our whole trip to Ireland was planned around a trip out with Nic and it did not disappoint. We saw dozens of dolphins, a couple of minke whales, grey seals and lots of different types of seabirds. The dolphins were riding the bow waves for ages. My husband and I like wildlife watching but it was great to find an... More

Whilst on our summer holidays (3/7/16) we had a fantastic trip with the knowledgeable Nic on his boat Voyager. Was a wonderful host/guide showing great concern for the comfort and enjoyment of his passengers. We saw minky whales and dolphins. Would recommend this trip to everyone. J&M Allen Uk
