Pure perfection. On entering the harbour the silence envelopes you and one relaxes immediately. Walks are well signposted and stunning views to be had. Shop and bar restaurant at the harbour is lovely and quaint and you can sit out and overlook the beach /harbour . Beach is small when tide out. One small pub further up the road serving... More

Cape Clear is the nearest thing to heaven on earth that I have ever experienced. An uncle bought a house there in the mid 60's.It was not that popular as a tourist resort in those days. We,as a family, used to spend at least a month every summer down there and used to love it. As we got older,in the... More

Cape Clear Island is the most southerly of the inhabited Islands of Ireland, it has abundant wildlife and it is possible to see Humpback whales from the shore as well as many other creatures. well worth a visit for any group.

Stopped for a picnic lunch. Beautiful island with friendly people. You have to try the goats milk ice cream.

We went to see the O'Driscoll castle since I'm a Driskill and my ancestor came from this part of Ireland in the mid-18th century. Actually, the O'Driscolls pretty much ran this corner of Ireland for a few centuries, and there's still plenty of them around these parts. Went for a long hike: breathtaking views, unbelievable colors. We were lucky though... More

I travelled to Cape Clear via ferry from Baltimore to take The Fastnet Tour operated by Cape Clear Ferries. I live reasonably locally and had taken a few days off to enjoy the sights in Co Cork that I hadn't as yet seen. The trip was amazing, the ferry was relaxed yet professional and The Heritage Centre on Cape Clear... More

Enjoyed a day trip to cape clear. Took a 45 minute bus tour, which was quite good. It's a hilly island, but we walked a bit anyway. There is a loop walk which is a great way to see the island. Well worth a visit.

We only had a couple of hours before having to get a ferry back, would have been great to have a full day to explore more of the island. If going check the ferry times online as they only... More
