We couldn't visit Cobh without having a look inside the cathedral although the climb was much greater than anticipated and was nearly too much for an older family member. The views from the cathedral grounds was stunning giving a very good overview of the whole harbour area. Inside the cathedral was as beautiful and dramatic as I had expected and... More

Cobh Cathedral is absolutely beautiful and well worth a visit when in Cobh. The views of the harbour from the Cathedral grounds are also stunning and not to be missed.

We visited Cobh during our stay in Kinsale. There is no missing the Catherdral, perched on the hill overlooking the town and the harbor. If you love churches or archtecture or architectural detail, this is worth the visit. A wonderful house of God with a scenic view.

Up on the hill, the walk there is part of the fun, up the hills of colorful homes and staircases leading to the cathedral. Really beautiful architecture, nice a quiet at least when I was there and a great view of the city and harbor from the outside. Totally worth the small hike up the hill, really a beautiful gothic... Cobh is a very interesting place to visit and your visit wouldn't be complete without a look around its lovely cathedral. Recommended.

Cobh is a hilly town and Cobh Cathedral stands at the top of the hill. Have some good walking shoes because though it's not far on foot there is a steep climb. Wonderful views from there of Cork Harbour, Spike Island and Haulbowline, the Naval Base. The Cathedral itself oozes stillness, a prayerful kind of place not typical of a... More

Our cruise ship was docked in Cobh, and we spent most of the day on a tour to the Jameson Distillery. When we returned, we had some time to kill before we had to be on the ship. My wife and several other people decided to walk up from the dock to the cathedral while I went back to the... More

St Colman's Cathedral in Cobh is an architectural beauty. Built high on a hill, there are amazing views out on to Cork Harbour and the town of Cobh. Inside, it is beautiful and there is a reverential atmosphere. We visited on a Sunday and were fortunate to time our visit with the playing of the 49 bells. Just inside the... More
