The Muller family have run this studio for as long as I can remember and there is a wide selection of artwork to view and buy. You can also look at the wonderful hand-built boats (some of which are work in progress). You always feel that you are welcome, even if you only there just look around.

Response from Etienne M, Owner at Brushwood Studios

Thanks, Frank. We, the Irish, are incorrigible communicators. I hope that we will always continue to welcome visitors as guests, rather than viewing them as tourists. I believe this is part of the reason folks keep returning to our little country. Et.

Ann Muller, the family matriarch, has been painting award-winning art for a long time. Her work is superbly complemented by family members Jo-Ann Yelen, Diana and Pam Muller. Their art is a must-see for any traveler or resident.

On the main road to Kenmare just outside Sneem this is a unique place to visit in the middle of the woods. There is a lovely family atmosphere and the art is very special. Well worth a visit.

Super visit if you are at all interested in art - great curation by Etienne who was generous with his time and long in his patience as he explained to us cultural heathens what we were looking at and enjoying. Four family artists are highlighted along with Etienne's photography, printing and kayak building! We very much appreciated the work that we viewed and highly recommend this studio as a visit. If you are visiting please note - access is off the Sneem to Kennard road, well signposted but - keep going - it's a little way up the track but well worth persevering.

Followed the sign for Brushwood Studios and almost gave up as the road was a boreen with grass running down the middle but decided to continue on. When we arrived the first thing we noticed were the beautiful wooden kayaks, incredible skill and talent to build such beautiful boats. We met Etienne who told us all about the studio and its history and her family of talented artists. We spent over an hour talking with Etienne about the different paintings, style and the artists. Beautiful paintings to see, coupled with a great welcome and it was a wonderful way to spend time during our visit to Sneem.
