Up a windy road there are two levels Lower Sky Road and Upper. The view from the upper in worth it looking across the bay and out to see its always a favourite of ours.

We hired electric bikes from the Bike hire place in town and had a fab morning whizzing along the Sky Road. Great views and a really fun experience.

Amazing views; great survey of the landscape in Connemara. Wouldn't miss it if you are in this part of Ireland.

Outstanding vistas and unsurpassed scenery. Full of twists and turns, ups and downs. Kind of like life itself! Enjoy the ride and the views along the way!

I'd advise anyone who likes scenery to do this. Pull in when you can and just take in the scenery - which is fantastic. The road is not hugely wide but well worth a careful drive around.

The wild atlantic road is beautiful, and this part definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Drive slowly and enjoy the wild ocean views!

A very delightful walk along Sky Road despite very blustery weather. A very busy road but safe enough if you are sensible. The traffic is mainly fairly slow.

Yes it is possible to cycle if you have the energy in your legs for steep climbs and are not afraid of steep downhills. Clifden is a good base for Connemara

I would get a B&B or Hotel in Clifden if you are going car-less as the public transit is hit or miss and the distance don't look bad on maps but roads are small, curvy and in season crowded. And I second the comment above... More
