We stopped in Adare for an afternoon tour on our visit to Ireland. Adare is one of the prettiest towns. The Main Street shopping was a favorite of ours. We enjoyed the Black Abbey for Irish handmade souvenirs

A lovely lady served me with my purchase. There are lots of items for sale in the shop, especially if you want to pick up something to take home. Lovely bag as well! Lots of 'Irish' gifts and clothes to see. Take a little time and walk around the whole area. The small restaurant beside this shop is great. Lots of snacks (and meals) available. The ladies serving are so friendly, yet efficient. The apple pie is gorgeous! The whole surrounding area of the shop is well worth a stroll. ENJOY!

Hopefully you can come back to Adare in the future and have more good experiences (maybe in weather a little brighter than we have been having this September). Regards, All at Black Abbey Crafts

Spent a few days in Adare. Wandering the streets (in the rain) and admiring the local crafts. This shop is inside the Heritage Ctr. It has a large variety of souvenirs, Irish linen, lace (very expensive!) Ceramics and Jewellery. Staff are very helpful and allow you to take your time to browse (without offering to help...)

I spent a day wandering the streets of Adare and visiting all of the shops. I found Black Abbey Crafts to be the best place to shop in Adare. It is located inside the Heritage Centre. This small shop offers all kinds of items that make great souvenir gifts or purchases for folks back home. They carry a nice selection of Irish linen and lace (some handwoven lace that was beautiful and pricey); other doilies were very reasonably priced. They also offer a nice selection of jewelry, ceramics, and other gifts. I purchased some items my first day and after a week of touring around, went back again and bought more. Wide variety of very nice items, reasonably priced, and different merchandise than you will typically find. Definitely the best place to shop in Adare.
