Nice relaxing river walk nature trail
Oct 2020
First time ever I walked the river walk, never knew it existed. It was ‚one way‘ due to Covid, not so easy to figure out where to start as you head down from the Heritage Centre, but this was a lovely new experience on a bright day, away from the traffic for some peace and quiet, watching lovely swans and enjoying the peace in the middle of this busy village. Just improve the signposting to find ‚the right way in‘, please.

Pleasant walk...plenty of birdlife
Sep 2017 • Couples
It is a nice walk, probably around 3km in total if doing from the Heritage Centre with a km or along the river itself.

I would suggest going clockwise by taking Station Road (street you turn off to enter Heritage Centre car park) out to the river so you walk the river towards the bridge. This provides nice views of the wonderful river bridge with Desmond Castle in the background. On reaching the bridge you simply follow the main road back you the Heritage Centre, with the option of taking in the Franciscan Friary and Tristinian Abbey along the way, also passing by the thatched-roof cottages along the way.

In effect, you get all the highlights of Adare in an easy and pleasant stroll.

Plenty of bird life along the river as well.

A lovely stroll by the water
Sep 2017 • Couples
A nice circular walking loop along the water in Adare. I had to ask directions at the Heritage Centre on how to get on the walking path. It took about 20 minutes and it was basically a flat path, so not physically taxing. Good views of some of the buildings in the town. Supposed to be some wildlife in the area of the loop, but we didn't see any during our walk. Enjoyable, particularly on a nice day.
