My kids and I were excited to find this place on a holiday in Kinsale but I was very disappointed with the customer service. I picked up a couple of bags of chocolate to look at the price underneath and the girl behind the counter very passive aggressively said ‘would you mind not picking up everything (I looked at three things) as we’re trying to do our best here, ya know’. I know we’re dealing with a difficult situation but if this shop doesn’t want things picked up they shouldn’t put people in a position where they need to pick things up. If the products were priced clearly and not on the bottom of the chocolate you wouldn’t have to touch them. There’s a nice way to convey this information and the girl definitely chose a rude and aggressive way. I was tempted to walk straight out but the kids were excited to try something so I still bought a packet of chocolate. They liked the chocolate so giving two stars instead of one.

The yummiest and most welcoming artisan Chocolate shop in Kinsale West Cork, Ireland. Chef Francis, thank you for the amazing chocolate and hospitality. We'll be coming back soon for sure!
They also have the chicest gifts to take back home as a treat for loved ones and family.

My husband spied Koko as we were strolling around the marina and asked if I wanted some chocolate. Of course, I said yes! We were waited on by the chocolatier, Frank, who offered us samples of some of the recently made chocolates. I highly recommend the salted caramels (milk and dark chocolate), whiskey balls and espresso truffles (they are especially amazing). Also, the Millionaire Bars are to die for. I could've eaten my weight in them!
In addition to sharing tidbits about the chocolates, Frank gave us advice about what to see while we were in town and directed us to the Bulman where we spent one of our favorite afternoons in Ireland. If you're in Kinsale, treat yourself to Koko!

Superb handmade chocolates and a coffee on the side.
With Covid restrictions and such a small interior, you might have to wait, but it’s well worth being patient.

We stopped here as part of the Kinsale Food Tours so we got a bit more information about the chocolate than the casual customer might. We were so impressed that Frank adds nothing to his chocolate, except wonderful and unique flavorings-- like ginger and seaweed. I don't even like truffles and I loved the ones I sampled. This is a great family run business.

We visited Koko as part of a food tour of Kinsale and enjoyed meeting the owner and his daughter and learning about his fantastic chocolate recipes using local ingredients. Each bite was better than the last. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this adorable little shop and took tasty treats with us to last throughout our vacation. When in Kinsale, make sure to stop by.

I am a regular visitor to Kinsale as we have a family Holiday home there. Since my first time going into Koko's I have visited every time I am down since. My regular order is a white chocolate Mocha(amazing) and a medium box of mixed chocolates. I can genuinely say that almost everytime I visit I have almost finished my coffee by the time I leave. Whether it's exploring the beautiful hand made chocolate sculptures around the shop or just talking to the owner and his lovely family I have always had a great experience. I would recommend that anyone visiting Kinsale should pop in while passing the pier. There are some towns that rely on the small local business to make an experience memorable and I have to say Koko's is a wonderful contribution to the atmosphere of Kinsale.

We visited this place on a recent trip to Kinsale in September. The place looked like it was only half stocked as apparently the chocolate maker was on holiday or sick and the card machine was also down. However, this did not put us off, we opted for a selection of beautiful handmade chocs and they were absolutely delightful. We picked a peppermint choc, salted caramel, and a seaweed and ginger I think it was. We really enjoyed them. The place was small but cute and I love that it is a small local business. It was just a shame that they were low on stock when we visited. I think the chocs were a bit pricey, but you pay for what you get. Would we visit again? Absolutely! We will be back next time we are in Kinsale.

Delicious hand made chocolate. This was the final stop on a walking food tour of Kinsale and was a great place to finish. The salted caramel chocolate was not your average, it was chewy and wonderful. I really loved the ginger, honey and seaweed variety.
