Wild Atlantic Sports is a bike tour and rental business based in Kinsale, Co. Cork. We offer high quality bike rental and guided cycling tours in the amazing Kinsale area. The area is great for exploring by bike with some spectacular coastal scenery along the Wild Atlantic Way. If you're comfortable cycling and happy to find your way around why not RENT? If you'd prefer to be guided around the sights, following one of our carefully planned routes, pick from one of the three tours below. RENTAL: High quality mountain bikes with front fork and disc brakes, helmet, high vis vest, lock and repair kit all included. We deliver to your local accommodation or if you're not staying in town, can meet you in a central location. TOURS: The Wild Coast Tour is our most popular tour. This tour is suitable for beginner/intermediate cyclists and the route has been carefully selected to show you the best of the area, without too many uphills! There is stunning scenery along this cycle - pedal your way past surf beaches, towers and some spectacular Irish countryside. There is a stop mid-way for coffee/tea in a local cafe. This tour starts from the Old Head Signal Tower which is 15-20mins drive outside Kinsale. The Kinsale Town tour is an intermediate level tour (some hills!) that explores the coast through the town from Charles Fort to Sandycove. Loads to see along the way from the Kinsale marina, James Fort, Dock beach or spot wild goats on Sandycove Island. Finally, the Courtmacsherry Bay tour is our longest and flattest tour. We cycle along past sandy Coolmaine Strand, then follow a road which continues the entire length of Courtmacsherry Bay. We pass Timoleague Abbey and stop for tea in a charming cafe in Courtmacsherry. Whatever tour you pick, we know you'll love it! All tours are suitable for people with a moderate level of fitness. It's very much your day at your pace! First time on the Electric bike but I had no need to be nervous the bike was amazing, very well maintained and got great advice on use of the bike and scenic routes from Mark, who was very helpful in his friendly way. Took the bike for 48 hours and found it a very pleasant way to get around and you'll be surprised at how much ground you can cover.
Highly recommend if you're around Kinsale for a few days... taking the bikes for 48 hours is value for money and a great way of seeing the sights.

Highly recommed Ruth and her business Wild Atlantic Sports. We had booked for the Coast tour. Ruth contacted me to say she was extremely busy and the day we wanted to have the tour wasn't possible as she had to drop.bikes of elsewhere for a large group, she offered us a couple of other options one being a full days rental for same price which we took.
Met Ruth on time on Monday morning gave us a lot of tips, advice and information. We had great weather and my wife and I set off to the "Old Head" route. Stopped many times at Sandy cove and many other spots to take many pictures. In total we did approximately 50kms, (electricbikes) we had a great trip to the old head and then back then to Charles Fort, James Fort. Stopped at a couple of bars and enjoyed a couple of well earned pints. We left the.bikes locked up at agreed location for Ruth to pick up, which she did. Would recommend and would.do again

Hired 4 electric bikes to tour the wild Atlantic way. We we from Kinsale to Courtmacsharry via the old head (round trip of around 70k). Bikes were new, easy to use and comfortable. Having done this hilly trip before on push bikes I’d recommend the electric all day. There are so many beautiful and scenic places to explore this makes for a superb day trip and the company were genuinely easy and professional to deal with. Would definitely do again!

The touring bike was great, it had everything I needed for the 50km that I cycled over 3 days. Ruth was very helpful and showed me a number of different routes for all abilities.
The bike was well maintained, comfortable and a smooth ride. There were no mechanical issues and I was provided with a multi tool and puncture repair kit just in case, which was good piece of mind.
I thought that the price for 3 days (€75) was very reasonable and I will definitely come back to Wild Atlantic Sports for another touring bike next time I’m over.

Ruth was a great host for a beautiful ride along the Wild Coast. The e-bikes were a great way to cover the elevation changes of the coastline. We had a blast and would highly recommend you book this tour with Ruth.

We hired two ebikes over the May bank holiday. The service and support was superb Ruth looked after everything and explained. The map was brilliant and easy to follow we had a great time and cycled for hours on the battery

Hey. My partner and I rented the bikes out for an evening. We had such a time on them. They were so enjoyable to use as we cruised around the local area. We covered some ground in the end. We're locals ourselves but the novelty of cruising about effortlessly chatting away and seeing things you'd otherwise miss in a car will definitely see us rent the bikes again. They really were great fun. I suppose we underestimated how easy they'd be to get around or to maybe carry a picnic hamper or a bag for the beach, that type of thing. We're going to rent them again but we're thinking 2nd time round we'll book a table in a restaurant a little further afield. I'd 100% recommend giving this a go.

Firstly if i could rate this experience 6 stars i would! I am a very nervous cyclist but they were very accommodating and helpful throughout the whole experience. The customer service was top notch and they were extremely friendly to us the whole time. The quality of the bikes were great and they were very stable for a both beginners and advanced cyclists. They helped us with the route and gave us a contact number just in case we needed their aid. I really enjoyed the experience and it was fantastic to be out and about after a year being stuck inside!

We rented electric bikes during our stay in Kinsale for ourselves and our 2 teenagers -we really enjoyed the experience - Extremely easy to use - we had them for the day and cycled all over Kinsale which was much more enjoyable than driving! We stopped for lunch, coffee & sight seeing along the way. It was a great family activity and I would highly recommend them for families with teenagers.... Mark was very helpful in planning a route and providing all information necessary. The best way to see Kinsale for sure!

Myself and a friend rented some electric bikes from Mark during our stay in Kinsale. Mark went above and beyond to accommodate us, as we selected the wrong type of bikes in our booking. He was very kind and generous with his time, as my friend needed a little extra help to get accustomed to the bike. He gave us suggestions about routes and was overall very pleasant to interact with(he also has great taste in books).
We would highly reccommend Wild Atlantic Sports. This is a place with high quality bikes and amazing service. Cycling around Kinsale was definitely the highlight of our short trip.

How much is a 2.5 hour bike tour? Do you need reservations? We will be going to kinsale in May of 2017

Firstly, sorry for the delay answering - I just saw this message now!
A 2.5 bike tour is €35 per person, including a tea/coffee during a stop along the way. Yes, reserving in advance would be great. Just give me a week or two notice, if possible. I normally run tours at 10am and 2pm.
