We called in after dinner to sample the local music. It is quite a small place and can get crowded, especially around the bar. Our group were a bit noisy and received dirty looks from the licensee and some of the customers who were interested in listening to the music. Can't blame them really - this is a serious music pub. We had a couple of drinks and left. There are more "open" music pubs in Kinsale!

Not a large place but went before dinner for a drink. Later that night we went to a different pub and wished we had gone back to Dalton's. It was packed and the music was pumping. Staff was great. Struck up a conversation with some locals and had quite a few laughs.

When I thought about Ireland I pictured friendly people in a warm pub with wonderful Irish music. Dalton's was all of that! I loved that the locals were singing and playing instruments - not professionals! A man sitting next to me stood up and sang the most beautiful song that brought us all to tears! What a memory for our family.

Visited twice and found it to be a friendly place to have adrink with locals. Young musicians playing second time added to a good experience

We were walking through Kinsale looking for Traditional Irish music and hit the jackpot at Dalton’s Bar. The Bar is a small establishment with a bar and tables and chairs with a corner reserved for musicians. The night we were there two young men and a young woman enthusiastically brought Ireland’s musical heritage to life. We enjoyed every minute. I had rad that, if you go into an Irish bar the locals will start a conversation with you, but I thought it would never happen but in Dalton’s Bar it did. A man asked if we were on vacation. We talked off and on during the evening about Kinsale and its music scene. He told me that you will know when the locals arrive because you will not be able to hear the music. When that happened we left, confident that we had enjoyed a genuine Irish pub experience shared by locals and tourists alike.
