Disclaimer: I've never written a review, ever, in Trip Advisor or anywhere. That speaks volumes for the high quality of Dermot Ryan's walking tour. It was totally educational as well as enjoyable. I learned lot's of history but also liked the fun folklore and anecdotal stories. It was the perfect lenght of time for teenagers as well - not boring!... More

Great educational tour. Dermot was engaging and knows the history to the smallest detail. I never understood the importance of the battles here and the strategic nature of the town in old history. He had an engaging style and when asked where people were from had an anecdote for each.

It gives lovely views of Kinsale and the ocean beyond and also gives you a birds eye view of the amazing houses nestled on the 'island'.. fab if you love looking at... More

Dermot is a fabulous guide. He is that wonderful mix of well informed and entertaining. He was a local teacher and knows the place intimately. He obviously loves sharing his home town with visitors.

Dermot seems to really enjoy guiding people through the historical parts of Kinsale and illustrates the walk with interesting stories which is told in a way that brings it all to life. Great value for money and well worth doing.

A great way to start your stay in Kinsale. For 5 euro Dermot Ryan has a fascinating amount of knowledge on the whole story of Kinsale and he does it with a great mix of facts and humour.
