Barry Maloney's guided tour of Kinsale is a treasure! The fact that (Vermont Bicycle Tours) VBT arranged for Barry to lead our group tour last October, 2019 says it all. Barry's story telling and knowledge of the history of the area holds your attention throughout the walk. He would be a fun person to have a beer with at the local pub. I promised Barry a year ago I would write a review because his tour is so outstanding. If you attend his tour you must ask him to tell you the story of the "3 G's" in the neighborhood.

Barry's informative tour brought to life the battle in 1601 and it's current impact. The English defeated the Spanish Armada and the allied Irish tribes from Northern Ireland. The defeated Irish lost their land which was given to Protestant English farmers thus planting the seeds of future Troubles. Whew! Barry also covered recent history such at the Lusitania inquest and pointed out good pubs, restaurants, forts, walks and other details. Very enjoyable!
