A Stop on a bike tour. This was yet another special place to explore that was clearly respected as it was clean and there was no trash (like I saw unfortunately at other touristy type places). You wonder how these people lived their lives as...More

Myself and my family went on a cycling tour from Ballina to Killala and stoped off here on the way. Our children love to discover old abbeys and castles and we loved the view.

This is so worth the drive to explore and take pictures, so old but still standing. There are steps into the building and more steps to get to the second level.

Beautiful ruins. A reminder of the sad persecution of a faithful people that is was burned. The ruins are on a beautiful spot. It must have been glory-focused in its day.

My wife and I walked around this abandoned abbey that was destroyed by a British Lord who wanted to eradicate the Catholic Religion. We got a great feel for the construction of the Abbey. Since we enjoy history, it was a must see for us.

A very substantial ruin but suprisingly well preserved. I was there on a sunny day and took lots of photographs. A hidden gem which is well worth a visit.
