St. Brandon sailed to North America and back in the 600's, centuries prior to the Vikiings, and this should be widely known history. Brandon's Creek is where his ship was built and launched.
This tiny, rough harbor is hard to reach, you need a guide and a nimble car (no big bus is going to fit!) to see it. There is nothing touristy here at all, and if the waves are large then don't go down to the bottom lest you be launched towards N. America yourself!
Recommended for historians, seafarers and odd wanderers, not the average tourist.

I wanted to visit here to see where Tim Severin set off in his leather boat so many years ago. Very picturesque.

Just a small creek but beautiful location that was clean and litter free. Nice relaxing spot for quiet meditation.

Great place to swim - this is a lovely spot to see and to swim - take the time to go here. You can park easily by the pier and hop into the sea from there.

Very evocative, a narrow opening in the cliffs, leading to a protected creek, from where St Brendan would have left for his legendary trip westwards. Nice to see if you have the time. You can walk down to the small pebble beach.

Beautiful bay with lots of dramatic waves. Nice walk down to the pier but best views are from the start of the path down.

I picked this spot to visit after good reviews on tripadvisor. It was the last spot on our Dingle trip. I took 2 of my girlfriends there saying "there will be otters".
First of all: it was not easy to find this spot. Even my GPS was already "out of route" there. There was no people there when we finally found the spot.
The small bridge which leads at the end of the road is adorable, but that all good about it.
It was very dirty there! Trash all over when we made few steps along the brook - filthy!
The view was disappointing - just a small creek ended with concrete road. No animals, nothing.
I would not recommend it to anyone. It was not worth to drive there.

A small fishing harbour nestled in the Dingle peninsula away from the hustle and bustle of popular tourist spots. A great spot for the photographer and artist, weather permitting.
An ideal stopping point for the hiker, walker, cyclist and for sightseeing on the ring of Kerry.
As a very average cyclist, this is one of my favourite spots.
A place of tranquility on a calm in good weather. A chance to stop and reflect on the first mission of St Brandon as he set out to cross the Atlantic ocean.
A small monument to his memory and the memory of those fishermen lost at sea earning a living deep sea fishing.
On a stormy day this can be both spectacular and ferocious so the pier can be quite dangerous in bad weather so watch out!
Really worth a visit.

On our recent visit we had to view from up high as a combination of Spring tides and storms rendered it unsafe , however looking at the waves crashing from up high and the lull of the waves was amazing.

I'm not sure. I've never seen anyone kayaking there on the visits I've made there.
