- SBSBrough52 contributionsGuinness and wellingtons. If you are visiting Dingle in Kerry don’t miss this gem. The number of traditional pubs in Southern Ireland are getting less and less, but this one has stayed true to its roots. The craic and the friendliness of the people and the staff is out of this world.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 23, 2023
- Mamma ⭐️Glasgow, United Kingdom78 contributionsDrinks in a Hardware Shop/ Pub!A relaxed friendly pub with an excellent no service by the bar man. A traditional Irish pub with good Guinness. Half the pub is a hardware shop during the day. I would 100% recommend visiting this unusual pub.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 12, 2024

Large open fire, reasonably priced drinks. Great staff. Covered area to drink at back of bar outside. Relaxing atmosphereVisited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 1, 2024

Unique and really great space. You can also get all your hardware products at the same time! They have a great space for a music venue but unfortunately we were there before the season had opened. A definite must visit if looking for a good pint and unique bar!!!

Been to Dingle a number of times, waited 10 minutes to try to order a drink which is fine since the bar was busy, when I was half way through ordering my drink one of the older barman stopped to serve someone else who hadn't even queued. I'm a 40 year old Irish man and therefore well used to pubs, his behaviour was strange, really arrogant when actually ordering, avoid at all costs. When I ordered my next drink the other baldy man shoved me (not hard) when I was in the way, a simple excuse me would have sufficed.

Me and a group of friends went in here because it simply looks interesting from the outside, and it was. Us girls in our 20’s were definitely the youngest in there but it was a great pit stop for a pint after dinner. A traditional Irish pub with a fun quirky atmosphere.

Dara, the bartender, was so pleasant to chat with. He was busy taking care of all the customers - serving beer and hardware purchases(!) while smiling and chatting. Foxy John’s is an authentic pub that makes a traveler feel at home. (And bathrooms are very nice!)

Foxy John's lives up to its reputation, and is a must do in Dingle. It's truly iconic, as many other reviews suggest. Tourists and regulars alike are welcome, and we enjoyed our craic there too. Although we didn't ask, I'm fairly sure the days of finding a nut or bolt for that home project are over. However, it surely is a convenience to be able to have a pint while searching for that elusive bolt or nail.

This was an interesting experience. A hardware/pub. We arrived early in the day and was able to chat with the owner. Discussed the name origin. Wonderful man. Met with a few of the locals. Highly recommend stopping in for pint with these find people.

Definitely a locals pub, as we marched through the crowded bar area looking for a place to snuggle into. It was loud and people were nice enough, but everyone knew everyone and we knew no one. So, we hung out and people watched, finished our drink and left. Probably would not go back.

Fantastic Pub!! Its also in an old hardware store so has a fantastic vibe. The bartender was super friendly and had great stories. They has Guinness and a couple local beers as well. They have renovated the back space and have a large beer garden. While we were there a man came in and order a pint of Guinness, T-shirts, and a tap measure - sums up the great character. Has live music at nights, just check if its a weekday/sunday.

Great atmosphere - Lovely fire. Much better than Dick Macks . We spent a few nights in Dingle and were happy to have found Foxy Johns. The pints of Guinness were soft so I went on the lager. The staff are friendly and efficient and it will be my first stop off

Half bar half hardware this is a great spot. Small front bar opens into a huge premises. Get there early as it was hammers by 10.00pm. Good Guinness and G&T’s (Gunpowder) were grand. Great during the day for a pint and a chat but descends into madness at night.

Had a fabulous time here on Wednesday 17th August where an amazing young lady sang (in fact could you please let me know her name as I would love a cd of her if available?) she came to the bar & ordered a port & brandy in the same glass? She had a young man with her playing a guitar
