Matlock Meadows is a modern purpose built ice cream parlour and coffee shop...

Matlock Meadows is a modern purpose built ice cream parlour and coffee shop set within a working dairy farm. The farm has diversified by making italian style hand made ice cream here on the farm using the fresh milk from our dairy herd. The coffee shop serves 15 flavours of ice cream, also sorbet's, ice cream sundaes, a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks, giftware and local produce. We have a small outdoor play area and in the adjacent field and barn we have a micro pig, sheep, chickens, cows and calves. We are a real working dairy farm rather than a major visitor attraction. We do not charge any entrance fees and therefore rely on the income generated from the shop sales to maintain our facilities which include outside play area, free car parking, toilets, and baby changing. The farm has disabled access and facilites and can accommodate educational group/school visits also childrens birthday parties.

Matlock meadows is fantastic!! It's a great, free, family run farm that offers ice cream and a rural play retreat for the kids. We live local and often visit, much to our kids delight! A great place to spend an hour or two sipping coffee, eating ice cream and playing with the children. The staff are always polite and helpful... More

We went on a beautiful sunny day after panicking in Matlock as there was nowhere to park! We got lucky and found this place by accident! Sweet cows that lick your hand! Nice sheep and lambs too. The playground is small but good for little ones and we also used the soft play which was great. My kids are two... More

As everyone has already said lovely ice cream. There is a soft play for under 4's and mini tractors for kids to play on under cover in a barn with cows. Also out door play area and animals to see and stroke. Great place for the kids.

We went again yesterday for another ice cream at this child friendly attraction. Apart from the superb ice cream, which is never a disappointment, it is always great to see the animals. I have met several Matlock residents who have not yet found this attraction, which is surprising as it is only just a short walk/drive from Sainsbury's! It is... More

Enjoyed the ice cream a lot! The cups of tea were delicious too according to my sister and Mum. Didn't try any of the food but it did look tasty (including the gluten free Daim bar cake!) The animals were sheep, cows and chickens. Took only a couple of minutes to see them all. Think in our heads we were... More

We initially called with the idea of spending half an hour here, but by the time we finished we had been there 3 hours. Friendly cows that seemed more than happy to be petted by children, a nice café that was really well priced, lovely ice cream and a little outdoor play area. The toilets are clean too. It is... The ice-creams are gorgeous and so it's worth visiting to taste them. On a sunny day I guess you could spend an hour or two here visiting the animals and eating ice-creams and it's free so if you are passing nip in for a treat.

My husband and I took our four year old daughter and year old twin girls today and had a lovely time. The girls loved the animals and play area. The ice cream is wonderful.
