We went to Baked Well for my friends hen party. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed ourselves. John was very accommodating, and nothing was too much trouble for him. There is a wide and varied selection of products to be painted which our party enjoyed as well. We especially enjoyed being able to do the finger print plate for our 'hen'! It will be a great souvenir for her! Thank you for making our day really special, we had a really relaxing and fun time!

Highly recommend it, we could not think of anything at all that would make it better.
We really enjoyed our morning here. One is spoiled for choice for an item to paint. There were big items, small items, plates in different shapes, teapots, statues (dinosaurs, gnomes, etc.), themed items (Halloween and Christmas), and many many others! Pricing is on each item so you know right from the go what you are comfortable spending. :)
There are loads of different colours, delivery can be arranged but we went back to collect the items since we were staying in the area for a few days.
The lady in the shop was extremely friendly, and the shop is very cosy, and even let us collect our items before the shop opened.
It's a great place to take children as it will keep them entertained for hours. :)
Thank you for a wonderful experience.

No words can I find that describes what an absolute joy this little place is. There I was, Daddy's day out with the girls (ages 1 and 3) looking for Christmas presents for Mummy...Daddy had this great idea of finding a little pot painting place, not really understanding how stressful it would be.... you can now imagine the paint flying everywhere and pottery getting smashed, but not here!!! Jane (manager) was an absolute star, and I cannot thank her enough, she gave me a great hand with the kids, and we have come away with some wonderful presents. Jane made my day out with my girls very special, and I know they had a great time as they slept all the way home!! Thank you Jane, you are a star!!

Myself and my family visited today with the intent of buying numerous Mother's Day presents, whilst holidaying in the Peak District. I tried to ring ahead but it went straight to answerphone. On our arrival there was a note on the door saying 'gone for lunch, back in an hour'. There was no time stated, so we thought that's fine we'll get lunch too. We went across the road to a cafe and returned in an hour. We entered the shop and were immediately met by a abrupt 'are u here to collect', I said no we are hoping to paint something. She replied 'well we're closed'. I explained we'd drove quite a distance especially, but she replied 'we've not had anyone all day'. I literally couldn't believe the horrendous service, there was absolutely no apology. The signs were still out on the road saying 'open' and there were still 2hrs of their trading hours to go. I wouldn't return here based on the woman's attitude alone, she was outrageously rude, and it certainly wasn't the pleasant environment I imagined taking my daughters to.

Went today with my 3 year old. She painted an item and After we finished we left. At about 30 min she asked if we could scribble something else on it like her name she didn't do and other bits. So we returned and I asked if we can do it. The woman gave it back to us and wasn't happy we wanted to do it. She had a part upstairs that arrived when we were there the first time. The party didn't mind us sitting there but she did and started getting rude and abrupt we were taking too long. To the point she started snatching the plate from my daughter while she was still painting and wanted us to go! My daughter was shocked and upset so was I but did not let her take the plate. The woman there became extremely rude and nasty. Even my 3 year old asked why was the lady not nice. My friends and I will not be coming back and i make sure everyone i know and uses this pottery is aware of this place's attitude.even though we live in Bakewell and go regularly and every year with quite a few friends and kids to paint before Christmas. Loss to the business for a quite significant amount of money. She also charged us an extra £2 each as she saw me with a brush in my hand so be were even if you are helping your small child with brushes and guiding them you will be charged because! you hold the brushes. Absurd! Never experienced such a bad customer service. Surprise that business is still going considering the customer care. Do not recommend.

I've been to a few 'paint a pot' places and have never come across an additional charge to use the paints etc!! But this place - not inexpensive to begin with for their items - adds a further £2 charge per person for 'the use of the studio'!! Why not simply include this in the price of the items? I mean - who's going to buy an unpainted item & walk out with it in that state? The whole purpose is to 'paint a pot' after all.

That said, it's a lovely little place. Not a massive choice but enough for children. If they didn't have this ridiculous additional cost I'd have rated it higher.

Great for an occasion such as birthdays etc. Thursday evenings you can even take your own drinks. Very relaxing, pick your choice of pot, Not just cups and saucers, It was near Xmas so i did a reindeer tree ornament,, Imagine there be Valentine items now. You pay a small fee to use the paints yet your finished article is glazed and fired for free, so exciting to see them come out so shiny. I think I will next go to around mothers day to make a unique gift. Really worth a visit.

Kept 2 adults and a 10 year old busy for most of the afternoon. Given tips from the friendly staff to get the best from the paints. Brought out our creative sides.

I went to Bakewell on a beautiful sunny day with my girlfriend and found this little shop in the centre. They have a wide range of blank pottery items, stencils (for people like me who can't draw!) and loads of different colours to choose from! The service was really friendly and I'd recommend it to anyone!
