Never visited Queens Park before and had a very nice time.
Nice sunny afternoon and quiet busy, there is space to walk, a nice lake the cricket ground for the season, a children's play park and football pitches with astro turf for older children and teenagers.
There are toilets at the cafe and the ice creams are huge and multiple Frederick's flavors. The cafe also sells food and drinks.
There is parking and street parking and the access is flat.
Nice Park.

A terrific very well kept park for people of all ages.
A great place for a pick nick or a visit to the park cafe situated next to the children's playground.
On occasion you can watch County Cricket when DerbyCCC play there.
There is a miniature railway running around the duck lake.
Sometimes there is also an out door Cinema and out door plays (usually Shakespeare)
On one corner of the park is a brand new keep fit and swimming complex.

The sandpit is great for the younger children. Lovely safe landings and all children seem to love sand! The climbing equipment is fun.
The little train is always a winner and the driver was lovely with the children.
Loads of space and beautiful gardens.
All for free - thank you Chesterfield Borough Council

The beauty in the park during spring is wonderful. The flowers were out in abundance looking and smelling delightful. Great 2 parks for children and wide paths suitable for scooters and bikes. Love the pond and wildlife. The signs/ posters on what to feed the ducks etc need to be more prominent. Lots of space on the green grass area and plenty of benches. Cafe serving hot takeaway food and an icecream van. Love the bandstands and can't wait for the little train to start up again. We loved our visit here today

Clean park with easy parking. Lovely kept cricket field that allowed us to take a small walk around. Not a big walk but would be ok for quick pop out. Son had nice milkshake from ice cream at the cafe.

Me and my boyfriend went for a quick pizza during our lunch break from college. As we arrived there were no members of staff in the cafe to serve us. Once a young woman came out and took our order of a pizza, chips and a diet coke (we were served the full fat version), she told us that there would be a 20 minute wait which we were perfectly happy with as we could sit in the sun. After 40 minutes of waiting, our food had not arrived, so I went in and spoke to the manger who was very apologetic and informed me that it would be a further 5 minutes. The manager then came out with me and also apologised to my boyfriend, which was greatly appreciated. Twenty minutes after we had spoken to the manger, I then went in again and asked where our food was, after waiting over an hour. The young waitress then disappeared into the kitchen and brought out our pizza and chips, which were both passed to me over the counter. Each other table had table service and through the entirety of our visit, the cafe was not busy! No other members of staff offered and apology or any form of discount, we shall not be visiting again!

I spent a day here for the county championship match against Essex. Derbyshire play here about three times a year and it is a pity it isn't more. It is a very pretty tree lined ground which has a 'festival' ground feel to it and a throwback to the 1960's/1970's which is a plus.

It is a club ground used by Chesterfield CC but there were plenty of temporary chairs available as well as mobile bars, food outlets and toilets. You can park on site and this is a bonus, for £5 which is reasonable although this cannot be said for the entrance fee of £17 for a second division match and no reduction for seniors - very pricy. It is only a 5 minute walk form the town centre.

If you are a cricket lover and like a day out do try and pay a visit.

The cricket ground is situated within the smallish Queens Park which I would rate as average - only worth 3 stars for the park environs. It has what looks like a decent café next to a children's play area. There is a lake but according to a notice they are trying 'to control the number of Canada Geese in this park'. A worthy aim as there is considerable (not very nice) evidence of these birds activities. I didn't see much open parkland but no doubt it was affected by the cricket.

A beautiful day so decided to go into Queens Park Coffee Shop and Ice Cream (Fredericks) I believe.Ordered a pot of tea for two and 2 toasted panini with salad and coleslaw. They were disgusting, cold and no taste whatsoever.I left all of mine and my husband ate half. The staff did not know what to do and no one seemed in charge. The place looked dirty. Will hit be going again.

The food in the cafe was just astonishing! It's quite a surprise as it's just in a cafe in the park next to the playground. They catered very well for kids. We will be having another family get together there in the summer :)
