About
Bradford-on-Avon Wharf was once the busiest wharf on the Kennet & Avon Canal. Today, it’s a great place to spot historic canal features.

Very convenient place to moor up a canal boat or just come for a walk. Decent pubs in the vicinity, Tithe Barn and a good children's playground and park. Lovely place to spend some time on a sunny day!

We spent a pleasant hour or so walking along the bank of the canal and were fortunate enough to have picked a day when the sun was shining. Can certainly recommend the walk as there are many narrow boats moored along the bank even in...More

It was interesting to watch some some long narrow boats navigate the locks as they headed for Bradford on Avon. There is a pleasant tea shop by the locks, some shops and a number of pubs and restaurants nearby. Lots of boats on the canal...More

Whilst on a walk around town we came across the wharf and were lucky enough to see a barge going through the lock which I had seen before but was new to my wife.A nice place to take five minutes rest whilst exploring.

We had a lovely canal walk with our dog from Bradford upon Avon to Avoncliff Aquaduct, where we stopped to have lunch at the Cross Guns pub. The canal path was slightly muddy in some areas but hardly any people prior to lunch. The meal...More

We had four days trying out a narrow boat on the Kennet and Avon Canal. It was cold but fun made a lot better by a warming visit to Baileys Barn where we had a welcome cuppa and a full English breakfast. The volunteers at...More

Great spot if you like to see boats go through locks (and it is a very deep lock). There are a couple of pubs nearby as well if you fancy a drink. Otherwise, just sit in the sun and watch the world go by.
