We visited on a Sunday afternoon meaning to have a look at the garden and then have coffee and cakes in the tea shop but we were turned away when we tried to use our 2 for 1 entry card. This garden is definitely listed in the BBB Gardeners World magazine booklet as being a member which we mentioned but... More

Dear christinedavidson39, We are indeed a proud part of the Gardeners World 2-for-1 scheme and I'm very sorry to hear that you were turned away - you should not have been. Annually we receive well in excess of 400 free visits from participants of that scheme and we see it as an important part of our support for gardeners who... More

The pretty and charming garden designed by Harold Peto in the early 20th century is filled with his collection of artefacts - mostly Italian - and complement the flowers and trees most beautifully.

Beautiful Italianate gardens laid out on a hillside ( steep paths). Water trickling everywhere which you can hear all the time and discover as you explore. Well worth a visit. Excellent tea room. Opera and Shakespeare performances in the summer

This is a fabulous garden with the added charm of not being a money making exercise and reminiscent of garden visits of the past. The lady selling the tickets/teas was extremely interesting and made us feel very welcome and gave us a lot of information. The garden itself was glorious, such great planting and statues that gave a very tranquil... More

Harold Peto's garden is a must for people who are keen on gardening history. It is also lovely even for the uninitiated as the garden is in such a wonderful setting. Tbe house is beautiful and is itself set in idyllic surroundings. Beware the single track lanes to get there and back, however. The locals aren't keen on tentative drivers!

I'm not really into gardens and plants...but this is stunning and well worth the entrance fee to this private garden. It is simply beautiful, arranged over several terraces with some incredible statuary and floral displays. Well worth the winding approach road to find this hidden gem.

We visited Iford Manor Peto Garden in June 2016. Although it was a wet day the gardens were enchanting and the planting varied and interesting. This is an important garden containing many antique architectural features and ornaments. Well worth a visit however the gardens were slightly let down by the untidy service areas. Be careful of the narrow access lane... More

I have wanted to come here for ages after finding it several years ago when researching places to meet our inlaws in the area. We were not disappointed! I rang in advance to say we were coming to celebrate my Father in Laws 85th Birthday and the Housekeeper and Owner could not have been more helpful, suggesting someone to have... More

We recently visited the Peto Garden at Iford Manor. What brought it to our attention was the fact that this year it has become a Royal Horticultural Society Partner Garden. It is certainly very much worth a visit. It is an Italianate garden with a variety of different sorts of planting. It is set on a steep hillside and is... More
