A fantastic local garden slightly off the beaten track. If your interested in gardens and can walk on a step slope this is a great garden to visit. If you have problems walking this is not a garden to come to as it is virtually all on a steep slope.

We stopped in at the tea room for an afternoon break. We had a very enjoyable tea sitting out in the grounds. There is a nice selection of loose teas to pick from as well as tasty cakes. It's self service at the counter. We had a great table sitting out in the sun. The front of the house is... More

Stunning gardens, thoughtfully set out and maintained and beautiful views over the lovely house and valley. Love the cloister. And delicious Iford tea after a walk round.

Quite a unique garden because of the architecture, whichever way you approach it by road be prepared to reverse or pull into the hedge more than once because of the narrow lanes. Besides the garden you might like to spend time exploring the adjoining countryside which is beautiful, the carpark by the riverside gives you some idea.

We very much enjoyed our walk around the gardens which are only open on Sundays in October and then close for the winter. There is a lot to see and some stunning vistas, and still some glorious colour in the flower beds! Best accessed via the road from the Bradford on Avon road.

Thanks for your kind words - we are really glad you enjoyed your visit. In the summer we use the Cloister for opera and jazz, so perhaps you will consider coming again in high summer for a concert. All the best. More

I was lucky enough to have a guided tour with the owner of this garden on Thursday morning as part of my HND in Horticulture. I was blown away by the authenticity of the restoration work carried out there. The passion and commitment given to sticking to the original Peto design and ethos is seriously impressive whether you are a... More

What a gem, the gardens were not only full of interesting plants but there were lovely grottos and a temple, that were a delight to walk around.

A beautiful part of Wiltshire. The garden is amazingly well maintained and is great escape from the everyday bustle of life. It is a steep climb, but that was mentioned before entry and adds to the feel of the place. Also levels off at the top where you can really admire the valley and relax. Beautiful little Japanese corner of... More
