Lovely long, clean, beautiful beach and deliciously warm indian ocean. Harley any hawkers selling you things and very few people as well. Amazing.

Off the beaten track lies Che Shale right on the Indian Ocean and with wonderful view of miles and miles of beautiful beach. It’s in need of some TLC and the indoor area is very dark. Only a couple of sunbeds had shades so there was no chance of lying out without getting severe sunburn. Che Shale is famous for its crab dishes and this is what we went there for. We had some good starters – try the fried seaweed! We ordered our main meal later including a bottle of white wine. The white wine was nicely presented in a bucket of ice which unfortunately turned out to be the ice they keep their fish fresh in, so the smell was very off-putting. We had to wait over an hour from the time they brought the wine until our main course arrived, by which time the wine was almost finished. The crab patties were very good, but unfortunately the prawn dish was very over cooked. The Asian styled crab came in sauce which was so salty it was almost inedible. We had heard wonderful things about Che Shale but found our main meals not only very disappointing, but also very expensive. Were we just unlucky?

Just today we were motorbiking down a long nearly deserted beach during low tide, and found this place tucked away among the sand dunes and palm trees. Stopped in for a cold one and some chips. OK not much of an experience to give a full review BUT, the service was very good, actually asked if the rum and coke was a double or single, usually they bring a double and let you sort it out. The chips were fresh and crispy as we ordered. The ambiance was relaxed and comfortable. Spoke with some of the people staying there and they had great things to say about the place. Also found out there is a kite surfing shop right nest door. Going to go back tomorrow.

We popped in for a relaxed lunch on a grey and breezy afternoon. The cold beer, warm service, genuine friendliness of the staff and fantastic food lifted our spirits. Absolutely worthwhile the drive from Malindi.

this place allow you to experience the African touch. The drive in to the palm forest is beautiful and the view of real life is another plus. After reaching the beach you will get surprise because the immensity of the area and the length of it is really waoooo. The water is nice and you will swim with thousand particle of gold. You can enjoy a long walk and noce lunch. Ideal for kite surfer
