We called in primarily to see the Game of Thrones door and thought we might as well have a pint at the same time. The welcome we were given was quite simply the best we've had in any bar during our 2 week stay in Northern Ireland. The bar is full of history, and the host was quite happy to... More

I waited patiently outside until 11:30am on the button before approaching the man who'd just opened the front door. It turned out to be Damien Owens, proprietor and son of the legendary Frank Owens. He welcomed me in and, upon hearing I was there to see the famous Game of Thrones door, rushed to offer me a drink. I chose... More

Popped by on recommendation from taxi driver after dinner next door and was immediately welcomed. Bar was heaving but we were still served instantly. Barman Damien got talking to us, found out it was our honeymoon and shared news with other customers who were all very kind and buying us drinks! Never had such a friendly atmosphere in a bar,... Lovely service with a smile and they had the best relaxed atmosphere. Also we went for the game of thrones door and we weren't disappointed.

To quote Darren Clarke as he once said to me, 'it's the best wee bar in Ireland'. And he's right. Brilliantly family run pub. I've frequented this place manys a time and you can always be sure of a warm welcome and an excellently poured Guinness. Power to your elbow!

No frills, nothing fancy but a warm welcome (literally if you happen to get a seat by one of the fireplaces) and a very costly spot to while away a winter afternoon over a few drinks. The bar staff are always friendly and the locals always make us feel welcome. Always love coming here.

Called in here with my nephew Mikey who wanted to see another Game of Thrones door. Never been in here before but after two drinks it felt like our local pub. The bar was busy but the bar man got our drinks straight away and talked to Mikey about all sorts of daft things and really made us welcome. We... More

I was in Limavady for part of a walking and touring holiday but one reason was game of thrones locations. I went to Franks because of the doors of thrones. However I found the pub was my sort of place, its cosy, the craic is mighty with the locals and the Guinness is the best. I am definitely going to... More

Best Guinness by a mile in the area.. Great bar, great people! A super well run bar that is always a pleasure to visit! Can't wait to get another excuse for a pint there!

This stunning carved door has been made from the fallen trees of The Dark Hedges and was the 5th door. Presented to Frank Owens' pub in Limavady, Northern Ireland by Tourism Ireland in May 2016.
