Great pub
Jan 2016 • Friends
I love going to the Waterloo.

I lived on the Wirral for years and Birkenhead was somewhere I enjoyed to go.

Memory lane visit and it was great.

Staff were warm and jolly. The locals were ready with their banter/

Nice traditional boozer.

Not for wine connoisseurs but great for a lager or a gin n tonic

Staff night out
Nov 2015 • Friends

The Waterloo is, in my opinion, by far the best pub in Birkenhead. I went there on a staff night out on Saturday 28th Nov 2015. We arrived around 10 pm and even though the pub was very busy had no problem being served. The staff are really friendly ,the atmosphere is great, karaoke in full swing ( most of us have a go !). The bar prices are very good,a wide variety of drinks available. I've been on many a night out at the Waterloo and have had a great time on every one!

Fantastic place
Called in here with some friends on Saturday 18th April.
Lady behind bar (Bernie) was polite, pleasant and really helpfull when we left assisting a member of the group out of building into his wheelchair.
Friendly place we were treated like regulars despite it being first trip. We will return soon. Many thanks

Great local's bar
This is a great locals pub, been around for a long time, proper old time back street boozer, nice staff, nice local's in a very friendly pub.
We were here in April on a Thursday afternoon and the pub was busy,we ordered 2 pint's of JOHN SMITH'S BITTER,new barrel and just superb ,a most underated beer style.
The decor in here is really nice, traditional old pub design with a military theme running throughout, hence the name of the pub.
Free wi fi,pool table ,dart board and superb music being played, outside smoking area, perfect pub.
The price in here is superb ,we payed £2 a pint for our bitter ( 16 April 2015),great value.

Opening hour's are;
Monday to Thursday,11am till 12.30am.
Friday & Saturday,11am till 1am.
Sunday,11am till 11.30pm.

A brilliant pub
The Waterloo pub in Birkenhead is a traditional pub located just off Argyle street (Grange road east) a minutes walk from Birkenhead central train station.Lovely cosy interior the pub has 2 rooms which are very pubby (carpets all wood and light and airy a place you could stay all night.A great range of commercial beers on offer at a reasonable price which makes this in my opinion a must go when in this area of Birkenhead.
Opening hours are.
Monday-Thursday-11.00-00.30
Friday-Saturday-11.00-01.00
Sunday-11.00-23.30

Great little pub away from the riff raff!

Went to the Waterloo on Saturday night just gone. Karaoke was on from around 8pm until I left just after midnight. Great atmosphere and not a bit of trouble. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Bar staff were top notch - little things like asking if you want ice rather than just dumping a load in your glass. Incredibly cheap price too. Thanks to all :-)

Made very welcome at the Waterloo.

Called in at this pub (on recommendation) with a group of friends, after attending the annual Remembrance Day Parade at Hamilton Square, en route to a second venue. The place was buzzing, with a very happy atmosphere, and quite busy. We were immediately greeted and made to feel very welcome by Sarah and Paul, the hosts, who I'd never met before. We were treated to delicious helpings of free scouse with our drinks. I'll make sure I pop in there again when next in the area.
