I surprisingly had never been to Kidwelly castle, I thought I had until I got there. We made the special visit to see the dragon that was there for September only. It was a great feature and made for some fantastic photo's with me and my dog. The castle was great, it's basically a ruin with some information about its... More

At only £4 each the visit to the castle was a bargain. We were able to explore this amazing place at our own pace & felt that we'd really learnt something about it's history. Little gift shop tempted us on the way out & be sure to visit The Gatehouse cafe down the road as there are no refreshments at... More

As I understand it, there's a dragon on a tour of Wales and when we visited, he happened to be there too. He has 'real' smoke coming out of his nose at intervals. The rest of the castle was very castley and interesting enough. We took a walk around Kidwelly, there's a nice place to picnic by the river, worth... More

Very interesting castle and quite big. Gift shop is quite small and sadly they do not drink or food. The Car Park is also quite small but there are toilets inside.

I visited Kidwelly castle, during a Medieval day, There were costumed reenactors all over the castle, making it come alive. The castle itself is very interesting and I took many photos The small reception . shop was staffed by some very nice ladies, who managed to admit around 2,000 visitors in one day !! .... The shop was well stocked... More

Visited here today to see the dragon that breathes fire. We were told after a long queue to get in that the dragon wasnt working anyway. To save the childrens disappointment we went in anyway. Entry isnt expensive at £4 for an adult but we found the actual dragon to be alot smaller than what we were expecting. and of... More

kidwelly castle is a lovely historic site that is absolutely stunning most of the castle is easily accessible unless you want to venture into the towers due to the steps being narrow and are quite intimidating to people who don't like heights. the price to enter the castle is an absolute bargain, costing around £11 for 2 adults,1 teenager and... We went on a very windy but dryish day, and it was very blowy up on the tower roof! The kids thought it was great. Very interesting and informative visit.
