The best sixty minutes of rib-tickling historic escapism you'll find in...

The best sixty minutes of rib-tickling historic escapism you'll find in Skipton. Our canal trip promises you a guided tour that's fun whatever the weather with the finest countryside views you can get without moving your feet.

Your guide for the canal tour is award-winning comedian Dave Spikey of Phoenix Nights and 8 Out of 10 Cats fame. With his characteristic Northern patter, Dave takes you on a whistle-stop tour of Skipton and canal history that's refreshingly different to your average commentary.

Above the jokes and laughter, you'll hear points of interest and fascinating stories of how the Leeds & Liverpool canal delivered the lifeblood of the industrial revolution through Yorkshire. There's food and drink on board too so it's a fun twist to your lunchtime break.

Our lively canal trip proves you don't have to let planning or nasty weather get in the way of a good time. Our boat The Cobbydale sails at 10.45Am, 11:50am, 1:00pm, 2:10pm and 3:20pm. (The 10:45am trip runs in the high season, All trips run subject to demand).

What a disappointment! A 2 hour drive to absolute rubbish!! The waitress came round once in the whole 2.5hour trip to take drink orders. When we asked if we could order another drink she replied she isn't taking drinks orders now! Meaning we sat for the whole trip and ate our lunch with only one glass of Coca Cola! As... More

We went on the Skipton canal boat trip last weekend as part of a coach trip it lasted an hour and was great fun sailing along the canal looking at all the scenery. Tea/Coffee was offered free to our coach party. This was our second trip on the canal we hired a boat the last time to sail ourselves but... More

On a cold morning, we've arrived Skipton and eagerly awaiting for Skipton Boat trips after reading their reviews. We had fantastic opportunity to sit in front deck of the boat and had a short, but wonderful trip. The canal was short, but the boat ride meant something special to us and we had a small bar at the boat to cherish... More

Lovely peaceful trip along the canal seeing the Yorkshire countryside with a good commentary of the history of places we were passing.

We booked this activity, having chosen this from other similar destinations offered from the Activities company which offered the deal initially. We chose a Sunday Roast lunch aboard a converted canal boat into a floating restaurant. We arrived at 11.30 to " check in " having done so we were then booked in to our lunch slot at 12.00. The... Had a lovely trip down the canal whilst on a day out in Skipton on my birthday. The trip lasts an hour and the commentary is by Dave Spikey and it was really funny. The staff were friendly and we were offered drinks onboard. It was very relaxing and lovely taking in the nice surroundings and looking at all the... More

Take a one hour trip rather than a half hour. The canal navigation system of Britain is remarkable. They move slowly - so take more time to relax into the pace and you will absorb more.
