Consistently ranked as the #1 golf course in Hawaii, playing The Plantation Course is sure to be on every golfer's bucket list. Designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore, the course was designed on a grand scale in keeping with its location on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains and offers dramatic ocean views from virtually every hole. Its lengthy 7,411 yard par 73 layout challenges the pros but it's wide fairways and generous greens make it very playable for the average golfer. With dramatic elevation changes, this course offers plenty of downhill tee shots. You'll feel like one of the pros when - with the aid of the aggressive slope of the 18th fairway - you will enjoy hitting one of the longest drives of your life. The Plantation Course is the site of the PGA TOUR Hyundai Tournament of Champions each January featuring an elite field of previous year's PGA TOUR winners.

If you want to golf in Maui and can only choose one course, choose the Plantation course!! It's a little pricey (find deals on teeoff.com) but well worth it! This course is truly breathtaking and unforgettable. The only ugly thing about it was my scorecard....More

The Kapalua Plantation course is a beautiful, well maintained course. The course is hilly and challenging with some views of the Pacific Ocean. We enjoyed playing here but would not do so regularly because of the high greens fees. I give it 4 out of...More

Once in a lifetime golf round for golf lovers. Pricey but worth it. Course was in beautiful condition, tough course not for beginners. The wind is damaging to the course and your skin. Cart with built in GPS was fantastic and the esky/cooler one the...More

This is my third time at Kapalua. We played on a Saturday with an 8am teetime around end of July. The place was amazingly quiet. In fact, starter got us to start 20 mins early going off as a twosome. Getting started early here is...More

If you can keep your mental wits about you, it's a fun course with stunning views. The winds can make it crazy challenging (2 to 4 extra clubs) or, if winds are still, you'll feel like the best golfer ever! Greens run really fast, and...More

The Kapalua Plantation course is a must play if you are a golfer visiting Maui. Raw, scenic beauty and a truly unique design/layout with elevation changes that can only be described as "thrilling." Uphill, against the grain putts are incredibly slow. Down grain, downhill shots...More

A beautiful golf course with great views. Don't go if your ego requires a low score or your purse demands budget prices. You will be disappointed on both counts. If you want a first class golf experience you will not be disappointed. With wind (count...More

I can see why this is a must play and hosts the pros every year. Gorgeous course, with ocean views from almost anywhere. Challenging but fair so that an amateur golfer can enjoy it as much as a pro.

Pros on the PGA tour eat this course up, scoring 20 below par. Don't let that fool you if your the average, or even zero handicap golfer. This course is tough. The views are fabulous, and the overall setting of Kapalua is fantastic, but this...More
