Consistently ranked as the #1 golf course in Hawaii, playing The Plantation Course is sure to be on every golfer's bucket list. Designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore, the course was designed on a grand scale in keeping with its location on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains and offers dramatic ocean views from virtually every hole. Its lengthy 7,411 yard par 73 layout challenges the pros but it's wide fairways and generous greens make it very playable for the average golfer. With dramatic elevation changes, this course offers plenty of downhill tee shots. You'll feel like one of the pros when - with the aid of the aggressive slope of the 18th fairway - you will enjoy hitting one of the longest drives of your life. The Plantation Course is the site of the PGA TOUR Hyundai Tournament of Champions each January featuring an elite field of previous year's PGA TOUR winners.

Kapalua plantation course remains my favorite course in the world. It is just so very special. Bring a camera for an almost unlimited number of beautiful vistas. Also bring patience because it's one of the toughest courses you're likely to play. I'm not sure there is a flat lie anywhere on the course. Literally every hole involves elevation change. So... This course is breathtaking! Challenging, beautiful, incredible views, such a fun day! I drove, he golfed and we had a blast! Troon golf hires only the best.. everyone from pro-shop to cart guys to starters were gracious and professional! Thanks, we had a once- in- a-lifetime experience! End the round with a Mai Tai at the bar

Started with a helpful staff member behind the desk in the pro shop. The staff outside, the starter were helpful and very friendly. The course is the best! The views and the playability made it an awesome experience. Loved every minute.

If the Tournament of Champions was not played here, the course would be a $150 course. Troon Golf overprices the course based upon the January event. The course is in fairly good shape, I noticed many older divots in the fairway were not repaired (mid morning times). The greens were fast, but true. For a person acclimated to bent grass... More

I have to say that the Plantation is beautiful, challenging and in great shape. However, this is NOT a course you want to play when it is cart path only. If you book early morning (most expensive) there is a good chance you will be cart path only for at least part of the round if not all of it.... More

Did a playing lesson with Todd from the Kapalua Golf Academy at the plantation course and it was awesome. The course is extremely challenging and reading the grass direction on the greens is crucial, but the views are amazing. Best course I've played.

Very long and challenging course. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Great pro shop. You may get bouts of rain. But it is worth it.

Our first Hawaiian vacation, hopefully not our last. Kapalua Plantation Course has been on my bucket list for years. Arriving on the island on a Wednesday with such a long flight, I wanted to rest up a bit, making my tee time on Friday afternoon. Buy the way, a ton of websites will book tee time for you, but just... More

I've been fortunate to have played what many consider some of the best courses on the planet and I would definitely rank this course as a must play for an avid golfer. Sure, the tour comes through here so that appeals to many. But it's more than that. First, the fairways may seem generous but the way the wind can... More

I played the Plantation course about two weeks ago. I've played a few top-name courses, but for me the Plantation tops the list. Yes, it's difficult -- it's a PGA tournament course, so of course it's difficult. Just play it for the experience and forget the score card. Yes, it gets really windy, and it might rain...well, it's Hawaii. It's... More
