My boyfriend and I decided to spend about an hour relaxing in D.T. Fleming Beach Park while we waited to embark on a sunset cruise from Lahaina Harbor. The park is in the heart of Lahaina, which offers great people-watching opportunities. It also has visually interesting and unique trees, which appear to be very popular with various species of island... More

We really enjoyed this beach due to it not being too crowded and still having a very natural rugged feel. But it is not the pristine white sand you might find at a more 'kept' location. Sand is nice but there is lots of sediment washed up on the beach in areas. This is primarily a body boarding beach as... More

Don't even attempt to snorkel. If you want seriously good boogie/body boarding this is the place. In the winter months, the waves are big. I can only describe the wave action as unpredictable and chaotic. It is common to actually see backwards waves where the water is rushing back out to see with greater force than the incoming wave and... More

Boogie boarding here was fantastic! The views were spectacular as well. We went here 2 times for boarding and stopped by to check it out but opted not to go in due to VERY high surf. It was clear that it would not be safe. It appeared that even some of the locals were thinking twice about it! There are... More

We were here at around 4pm. Life guard is present, parking lot is spacious and washroom, shower facility was available. There were lot of families enjoying boogie board. Not as beautiful as Ulua, Kapalua, Napili, or other popular beaches but stil seems like a good place to have a family fun

This is a very popular beach for boogie boarding. Heed the lifeguards flags and warnings, the can be rips to the north of the bay. The beach can be quite dirty with leaves, twigs and garbage, so wear flip flops. Overall, we prefer Big Beach, but this one is closer if you are staying north of Maalaea. Has running water... More

D.T. Fleming beach is excellent for boogie boarding. If you are staying in the North Maui area and you (or your kids) enjoy boogie boarding then you cannot miss it. To find it is simple: go past Kapalua on Highway 30 northbound, and at the bottom of the hill it is on the left. Surfers rule the north end of... More

This beach was too wild for us. Kids need to be older. There is alot of surfing going on and swimmers must stay on one end. Very beautiful. A little dirty due to flooding.

This is a fantastic beach. And I live near Clearwater Beach in Florida and this is so much nicer. The waves are unbelievably high. I can't imagine what they must be like when they get really big. As the locals tell you, never turn your back on the ocean. I was able to get a nice chair from the hotel... More

This beach is awesome but can have huge surf. When the surf is high watch the surfers. When the surf is calm, go to the rock area at the far end of the beach and you will see huge sea turtles! Very cool!
