Great hangout

Has many places to go to. Restaurants, museum, clothing. Also sometimes local artisans sell art. Very close to the beach. Also has tour booths.

The Malecon is not a great seawall for strollers to cruise around for hours as the word implies in most Latin American countries. It's a block long and you can walk back and forth three or four times and still have most of the evening left to do something else. Some cars cruise around looking for girls and playing loud... Plenty of dining options at all prices. A lovely evening walk along the paved path that lines the coast. We also purchased some local crafts from artist set up there. Very pleasant.

You can either begin or end your day trip or visit with a stroll through the Malecon de la Esperanza. Day or night is an area where you will see local action in the many restaurants, food kiosks and souvenir shops.

there are various guest houses here and cafes, restaurants and bars. The night life is here and also you can buy the bio bay tours around there. The walk is quite beautiful around here.

If staying in Esperanza this is the main area. There are plenty of places to snack, drink, and eat. We tried a bunch of different places and had lots of fun. There are also vendors selling a few trinkets.

Great place to end the night after the beach all day. If going with a family with small kids it is ok but mostly adults around. Great place for photos!

Of the many charms of Vieques our boardwalk -- here called the "malecon" and made of concrete -- located in the neighborhood (barrio) of Esperanza. This is the same neighborhood as Casita Rosita and starts around the corner and a block away. Along the Malecon you will find 9 restaurants, a small great museum, rental outfitters, bio bay tour departure... More

Live entertainment on the streets and at a couple of the small clubs. Great restaurants, bars, and small hotels. Eat at Duffy's really good and fresh.

I wish i stayed in this area vs Downtown Visques. There was more nightlife here for tourist. We came here every night to dine. I tried almost all the restaurants and it was were all good. It had a view to the beach that you can see in the day time. Must visit and have fun! It's very low key... More
