My wife and I have discovered Vikla Golf course six months ago with astonishment and we became addicted: we came back every weekend. The landscape is fabulous in the mountains of South Cyprus, and the fairways are well designed among olive trees. That region does not receive much rain, especially in summer, then the fairways may be dry and rocky then but it would be a shame to waste vast quantities of water them in the dry season. However the greens are watered and always kept in excellent condition so that you can pitch them anytime. This is the essence of golf: an enjoyable tour in the natural countryside, rather than an artificial sport in an artificially designed piece of land, close to artificial mineral suburbs. The Vikla team reserved us an unforgettable British welcome in the cosy club house. (Last but not least, the green fee is awfully cheap, don't repeat it...).

Thank you so much for your comments. You have captured exactly what we are trying to achieve here at Vikla. It's great to feel your enthusiasm for the Club. You are not alone, 99% of folk that visit here are also smitten. Steve on behalf of Carson Houry.

If its golf of the highest quality you want then this is not for you. If you are looking for a unique round of golf with some of the most stunning vistas you could wish for and are happy to play off an artificial mat then i cannot recommend this place highly enough. The view from some of the tee boxes are worth the drive (no pun intended) alone. I could stay and play the 11th hole all day (Just make sure you have a 7 iron in the bag). We played the course late September and the fairways were grassless but we were aware of this and i would love to go back again to see the difference during the wet season. We stayed in Protaras and hired a car and drove up through the mountains. Easy enough to find using google maps and about a 90 minute drive. Under half the price of the courses in Paphos so if you are staying on the eastern side and are wanting to play i would highly recommend the trip. Overall it is fantastic value and if you would like a unique round of golf in a fabulous setting then this is for you!

My friend and I had the privilege of playing this very unique golf course up in the stunning back drop of the Trodos mountains. Grass less fairways due to the lack of water led to interesting bounces but the greens were superbly kept and a luscious green colour. It was an experience I will never forget, beautiful scenery, lizards, fantastically thought out holes and the 11th was an absolute beaut and a must play hole. Fantastic value for money and a very friendly easy going atmosphere. Well worth the journey from Protaras. If your around the area please give it a go, but remember in the dry weather the fairways are grassless. Have fun.

A very interesting golf course carved into the side of the Trodos mountains. This is not a traditional golf course as water is scarce and so only the greens are watered, The fairways you take them as they come, hence they provide you with an artificial grass mat for those really stony lies. However , it is fabulously picturesque, very friendly and above all cheap. It is less than half the price of the next cheapest course. Not for the golf snob but great fun if you enjoy something a bit different.

Vikla Golf and country Club Not an upmarket exclusive type golf venue, but if you want a homely welcome /golf lessons for beginners or needing to brush up on your game Margarita is a true professional. This is the time to visit, greens/ fairways in tip top condition...choose a weekend when its less busy and you will not be disappointed.
