Vikla is a friendly, family run golf club where we welcome with open arms all manner of golfer! The atmosphere is very relaxed and our prices very reasonable so whether you're a group of mates, family with kids or on your own you're sure to enjoy your day here. We have a pool and cafe-bar and the best views on the island so don't hang around, get on up to Vikla! SPECIAL OFFER!!! Transport from Limassol and back again, breakfast sandwich and tea/coffee, golf and club hire, lunch and 1 free drink all for only €45!

Amazing. The hospitality Was something i have never seen. It was like being welcomed in to the family.
Play'd a small tournament with the members and had an amazing time.
The course is beutiful. Greens look really good and are Green and soft, all you need to do is accept the fact that the fairways are dried out. Not green and almost no grass. So you have to play on a artificial matt.

This is a unique course and setting high up in the mountains above Limassol. As others have said it takes some finding, but google maps does the job, and the drive up and back has some stunning views.
The golf itself in summer is challenging but fun as the fairways aren't watered, so balls can bounce in strange directions, its called the "Vikla bounce" according to Steve the very friendly and helpful manager at the club house. The Greens though are wonderfully watered and soft, so accuracy is rewarded, which was not good for me!
Great value for money as well, compared to the more modern courses on Cyprus.

My friend and i played this golf course yesterday and I was so impressed that I had to write a glowing reference before I forgot! The drive was interesting but it is very well sign posted so there were no dramas getting there, once we arrived we were met with a very warm welcome, made to feel at home straight away and even though they had a important competition they found time to facilitate us and find us a buggy!
Now to the golf my friend has a 24 handicap and I play off 12, the course is brilliant for all levels the lay out is fantastic and the views are breath taking. The reason the golf is cheaper is simply that only the greens and fringes are watered and the rest of the course ( in the summer) you mainly have to play of a mat but this did not take away from the experience! The greens are fantastic and to my shock quite responsive.
My constructive criticism are the tees (mats), they either need to have several holes nailed into them so a tee peg can fit or a set of rubber tees provided.
My advice to someone playing for the first time would be check the hole layout on the card it would of saved me a 250yard 3rd shot on a par 5!
Apart from that the set up is great no snobbery or clickiness as you find from a lot of clubs, just a little gem with the most friendly staff and owners! When we come back to Cyprus on holiday I will definitely be returning.

Having read the reviews I thought Vikla would be ideal for me as I am a novice golfer just starting to play . In this respect Vikla was perfect and not at all busy . A hilly course with ample opportunity to lose your ball . The greens were really excellent .
However, the club house is a mystery - why was there some one sleeping under a blanket in the reception area . It was almost impossible to get any attention to get a drink . Having shouted hello at the top of my voice in the general area of the blanket covered person they woke up and someone else appeared but they couldn't understand me. I can ask for a Diet Coke in English and Greek both of which fell on astonished ears . Eventually charades got me a Diet Coke and a beer. I am not fussy but this was terrible and made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable . Was it early closing ? Was a Wednesday afternoon . Go to play golf but take a picnic ! I give 3 for the golf course nil for reception area

OK. Hands up!!!! We got it wrong on that Wednesday. We apologise most profusely for your disappointing experience in the Clubhouse.
At Vikla there was a very special occasion the day and night before your visit and consequently there was a very big party, the remnants of which was the person sleeping on one of the Clubhouse couches......OOOOps. We thought we had cleared everything up. Also very sorry about the service. This is something we really pride ourselves on and your experience was just one of those 'one offs'.
We are however. very pleased that you enjoyed playing our course, the greens still are excellent.

Truly a great and interesting course. Made even more special by the great staff who couldn’t have been more attentive. Thanks for all your help and advise. We would all highly recommend this course! But be prepared for fairways with a difference! The greens were excellent.

In response to a recent review of this club I must say that I categorically disagree with the review made be the ex member of the golf club. There is is always a friendly and familial atmosphere, the staff are great and everyone looks after each other. After every game all the members gather together for a laugh. The course is different from Aphrodite hills and secret valley however this is what makes it unique and interesting for any golfer. I strongly advise anyone to come for a good time and to test their skills.

We'd read the reviews so had a fair idea what to expect. Interesting drive to reach the place through some proper Cypriot villages and impressive mountain scenery. Very friendly welcome. Cheap to hire clubs but then they had seen better days. Mind you, I would not wish to use my own clubs around here. Very stony ground.
As long as you accept the challenge for what it is and don't expect manicured golf then there is fun to be had.

Thank you for your comment. Yep, there is fun to be had at our Golf Course. You can bring your own clubs because they are protected when you use the synthetic grass mats we supply.They are the same type that are used in the UK during particularly wet periods of the year to protect their fairways.

I done research, knew what to expect. Great host, great value for money, definitely need a buggy, home made food. Nice to relax in pool after. Included pick up and drop off. Thanks Carson for service and honesty

I'm in two minds about this one. It's not smart, but it's not snobby like the other clubs nearer to Paphos. The course really could do with some work - and some water. To be fair there is a bit of a drought on, and I don't know if golf clubs get any special dispensation re water usage in that area. The owner/staff were lovely. Really friendly and helpful. There were plenty of different sets of clubs etc to choose from to hire. The location and views are amazing. And the whole thing made a very pleasant change from playing on sand in the desert. And great for people like me who are nearly total novices.There are a selection of bar snacks and beverages available for lunch.

We appreciate your review, it's important that people know what to expect when they visit. I'm glad you enjoyed our hospitality. Regarding the water situation, the government restricts us to a certain quota which allows us to irrigate the greens but not the fairways so we just have to do what we can to keep the fairways as true as possible.

We were out in Cyprus for a wedding in August. We played Vikla Golf Course on the morning of the wedding. There was about 15 of us and we could not fault the club and thier fantastic hospitality.
A challenging and fun course with some fantastic views.
We chose the package deal which included lunch after the round. Definitely can not fault the lunch it was superb. Thank you to the ladies of the club for this.
From the off Robin was really helpful with answering all my emails before we got out to Cyprus, also thank you to Steve for looking after everyone whilst out on the course.
We'll be sure to visit again should we be out in Cyprus in the future.
Good luck with the new parts of the course.
