We recently went on one of the UK Rail Tours Trips to Worcester and had booked a First-Class dining package for four of us. We started our early morning at our local train station, where when the train arrived we were shown to a beautifully set table with sumptuous comfy seats, which reminded us of a bygone era. The service on board was excellent with friendly attentive and efficient waiting staff. Isabelle and Joel were great fun and kept the coffees and later wine flowing. We had a fantastic English breakfast which set us up for the rest of the day. The whole day ran to the schedule we were provided with and therefore we had no unpleasant surprises. After plenty of time to look around Worcester and visit the Porcelain Museum and Cathedral as well as some shopping, we returned back to the station to our table on the train with our pre booked gins waiting for us , to welcome us back on Board! The Four course dinner was a superb, the food was hot , very tasty and good quality , delivered efficiently without being rushed by our wonderful waiters. Overall we were really impressed with the whole experience, this is the first time we have been on this type of trip and all of us had a wonderful day, we were well fed and watered and are definitely looking forward to our next trip.

Booked onto the Dr Syn day trip from Derby. This was a long, long trip - in retrospect perhaps too long, especially with the delay getting back. Can appreciate they are trying to branch out and offer tours from the Midlands instead of just from London but nearly 18 hours on a train was wearying for most passengers. The seats are larger than ones we would have on regular trains today and were comfortable. The toilets were a bit grim. Water on the floor even early on in the trip and door locks not working etc. We booked onto First Class Dining and at first glance, the menu looked good and we thought it would be well spaced out as per the journey. Sadly, some of the catering staff were obviously not happy to be there, were grumpy and a couple of the female staff were sniping at each other. When food was being delivered, it was a bit of a melee in that there were SO many staff, almost falling over each other and coming at the passengers one after the other. Not exactly any first class dining experience I have ever had. Some of the catering staff were fabulous at silver service and arranging the food well whereas others thought if they got the food on the plate, they were okay. Some inconsistencies with portion sizes delivered to the passengers too - it depended on who you got! The catering staff were not wearing masks or wore them round their chin and I was surprised to see strangers put together on tables. We were told that we could get off at Ashford but if we were dining, we might miss our meals so that was a bit confusing so we did not get off the train. Because of the 40min / one hour delay, there was a lot of time in the evening to kill with no view from the windows. We paced ourselves with bottles of water and wine but it was obvious the staff were keen to clear everything away as we were asked quite a few times if we had finished with our glasses and bottles. There were regular announcements telling us the toilets were out of action and advice that you just had to keep trying to find one still working but with 3-4 hours still left of the trip, this was not a good experience either. Not sure what the dress code should have been in the First Class section but most people wore jeans.

I have been on trips with UK Railtours previously but I got to go on one of their railtours for the first time in a few years. The train arrived on time and I was able to find my comfy seat and enjoy the scenery as we went on our journey. Staff were available throughout the day if needed and if they did not know the answer to a question they tried to find out. Unfortunately on our return there was a delay which was beyond UK Railtours control but they kept us informed throughout. Highly recommended and will return.

A massive THANK YOU to the crew on board The Mazey Day Tour. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went over and above to help me with my disabled father. Cannot thank them enough!! The train carriages were so much better, than the cramped carriages of today. It was lovely to look through such big windows that frame the scenery beautifully. Our fellow travellers were great company and so compassionate. Thank you to them all. The trip was great from start to finish and very memorable. Looking forward to joining the crew on board another trip in the near future.

Mum and I had a lovely trip from Stevenage to Weymouth on the Dorset Maiden. The customer service was excellent. The guy who answered the phone was so friendly and helpful, answering all my questions (it was our first trip with the company). The staff on the day were equally as friendly and helpful. The seats were spacious and comfortable (we travelled first class non-dining) and everything was kept clean throughout the day. I would thoroughly recommend and am much looking forward to my next trip.
